The episode "Enter the Fly" is one of the most dark episode of the show, Baxter was actually executed, if it weren't for the fly, Baxter would get killed, even the audience can see the execution in process, as well, the audience can hear his laments.
Another thing I complaint about Baxter in 2nd season, he very often tells Shredder "master", Baxter was actually a scientist, not an "Igor/Renfield", writers tried to make him subservient, but wasn't necessary to humiliate the character make him Shredder lapdog, the positive side is his high intellect but he was too weak to confront Shredder (Excepting in the Curse of the eye of Zarnoth), it would be better if Baxter didn't tell "master" a least. Baxter fly would be better if he kept his intellect, but when the show progresses, he turned dumb and clueless, but a least he was too strong to confront Shredder and his cronies. |

My thought is always that Baxter thinks he's a super-genius but makes a lottttt of bad choices, and never really earns the assumption that he should have more dignity than he does. ("I'm a scientist!") "Curse of the Evil Eye" is just his One Good Day. Because everybody gets one. I think this is why I like Baxter better as a human: because he's much easier to laugh at as a broken wreck of a human being, those kinds of characters are always funny to me. Baxterfly is just the endpoint of an already terrible life.

I like Baxter both as the fly and as a human. I feel he was an interesting character on the show in both ways, since he always had interesting inventions. I may have liked him a little more as the fly though, since I remember more of those episodes and the video games as a kid.
