I don't necessarily think it was a horrible deal, but like you I believe keeping Wright was the better option.

Wright is a great defensive player. His long arms and mobility are great for blocking shots and putting pressure on offensive players. Carolina averaged 4.1 blocks per game last season....many of which Wright had by himself over the course of the year.

He isn't a bad offensive guy either. He ranked second on our team last year with 14.7 points and 6.2 rebounds a game. Not bad at all.

I don't know much about Jason Richardson to be honest with you. I'm not a big NBA guy, but since several of carolina's guys have been sent to Charlotte, I have paid more attention. I think Richardson is a good addition, I'm just afraid the Bobcats gave away too much young talent in Wright to get him.

Only time will tell if this move was a good one or not, but I tend to agree with you...Brandan Wright would have added a great amount of young talent and potential to the roster.

I read another example of a player ending up near the school he was from. Ray Allen got traded to the Celtics...he played for UConn (my school) which is about 45 minutes from Boston.

Speaking of UConn and teams like Florida who lose their good players...UConn lost everyone to the NBA, and last year was an awful season...they finished probably third to last in the Big East, missed the tournaments too. Not even a good coach (Calhoun) can make a team win with all the players gone.

Well, been a bit slow on the major sport front so been watching some tennis...

What a hell of a performance by Roger today...i watched every game of the match today and every point was well earned...i feel so bad for Nadal though, hopefully one day he can pull a win that's not on clay

And Venus yesterday was just as a spectucalr, just like the olden days...
Overall, a great tourney...

Oh, and I know we all discussed our brackets this past year during march madness, but as far as I know, noone did one together. So, i was wondering, anybody into Fantasy Football? Anyone down to join/create a league. The seasons almost here and I think it'd be some fun. Lemme know...

I am down for some Fantasy Football. I think Yahoo! is the way to go as far as free leagues, but I'll play whatever. Are we gonna play for a cash prize? Maybe a trophy? Pride is always good too.

Yea, I honestly don't like the Yahoo setup too much (more than anything, I don't like the point system too much) but we can do that or another free leauge, like Sportsline (which I perfer). And we'll definately play for pride maybe more depending on interest here...

I spend about 10 mins a day on it...so not that much.

If we do a live draft that usually takes an hour.

Ya it can take as much time as you want it to really. And Sportsline is cool, I've never done that one. Just no ESPN please, I love ESPN but their Fantasy setup blows dogs for quarters. Also I think that we should try our hardest to to a live draft, it's more fun.

Live draft is definately the way to go, so much more fun...and I really think that we should go with Sportlines as the ESPN and Yahoo ones are that great IMO...

As far as how much time it takes, it all depends on how much time you want to put in. It can be as easy as setting your lineup once a week and letting it ride, or you can take your time and study the matchups, how well a player does on turf, particular stadium, etc. It really is alot of fun, and if you are a fan of the game, you can really learn alot about the players and the game itself. Whereas normally a Texans v Raiders matchup might normally not hold an interest for you, if you happen to have David Carr as your QB (god help you), then you may actually watch the game and root for the Texans...

Overall, loads of fun...

So I'm thinking of actually watching the NBA next season. Boston got Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett this summer. This should be interesting....going from almost worst team in the NBA to one of the top....10?

I'm sure you all know about this already if youve been watching ESPN....thats all I've seen being covered.

I dunno, it looks good on paper...

But those are 3 overhyped/underachieving "superstars".

They'll for sure make the playoffs and be a top 5 team in the east, but that's all I see them as.

Oh and the whole Mike Vick situation makes me sick. He had better get what he deserves and not be treated differently because of his status...if he is in fact guilty, that is. Even if he wasnt present and betting, it stil went on at his home and he must've had knowledge of it. So he's in trouble no matter what.

unfortunately I don't think Vick will do a good amount of time in jail or anything....I'm not sure what evidence they have against him, other than it being at his home.

But I hope they do make a lot of convictions in this case for everyone involved, it's disgusting what they did, I can't imagine hurting a defenseless animal.

If anything good comes out of this its that its a high profile case with a big name on it, so now everyone knows that this goes on and how sick it really is.

They are some of the best players in the NBA, I think. It's exciting to see a team go from nothing to something like that. Especially after not getting a great draft pick. Top 5 team in the East is fine with me. Also, Ray Allen played at the same school that I go to, so it's cool to have him around.

This is the way I see it.....

None of them have been able to lead their respective teams anywhere. I like Ray Allen, and I don't think he's ever been considered a top teir star you want to build around. Pierce and Kg were and they're both terribly overrated, imo....and its funny how they will now be teamates. Maybe all 3 of them will be able to pull it together. many seem to be saying so, proclaiming them a top 2 team in the East. This situation reminds me a lot of NJ w/ Kidd, Jefferson, and Carter...they didn't fair too well.

I don't think they're overrated at all....they're good and everyone sees how good they are. Even if this trio only makes them as good as the NJ Devils, thats fine with me....thats better than a #1 draft pick would have made them.

I don't think you can call someone who leads the league in rebounding, averages over 20 ppg, and has been named league MVP overrated? Garnett is not overrated. The Celtics are easily a top 3 team in the East right now.

Thats good and all but he doesn't do **** when it matters. He can't lead a team and that was pretty apparent in Minny.
