This is absolutely weird. For one thing, these designs would fit for a movie or a brand new series, but not the current 2k12 show. Somehow, if they say this is downloadable, I'm not sure. My guess is that there will be a version based on the 2K12 show on the Wii U. This more 'mature' version for PS3/XBL/PC and a more 'kids' oriented version for Wii U/3DS.

Good guess. I'm expecting the same but they may port the kids game to PS3 and 360 for retail or wait until the next consoles anyway.

The TMNT look ugly here, but I don't see that as a bad thing. They're still recognizable, and they're only ugly because, guess what, they're monsters! I think everyone's too used to seeing them in a way that represents them as more cute and approachable, but the fact of the matter is that they're giant mutant turtles. These designs are just sticking closer to what they'd look like if they were real, even moreso than any of the live-action movies of the past did. In-universe, what are usually people's reactions to seeing the Turtles for the first time? Screaming in terror seems to be pretty common.

I honestly think most of you are being too harsh, and while I certainly have nothing against more cartoony looking Turtles, I actually think it's pretty awesome that someone finally made a better attempt at making them look like what they'd likely look like if they were real. If their looks are apprehensive to you, that's only because they're supposed to. It's not like we're talking about Mickey Mouse here. These aren't squash-n-stretch toons, they're mutated freaks that live in a world mostly grounded in reality (but with a lot of sci-fi elements, of course).

I'm sorry most of you feel so negatively about how they look, but ya know what? You can just skip out on this game, if you'd like. I'm sure it's only a matter of time until they make another TMNT game that has more digestible, cartoony designs. Personally, what I'm going to judge more on this game, after having seen the direction they're going in, is what the humans look like. If the humans look real, then I'm sold. Granted, I can't speak for the gameplay, as it's still too early to know what that'll be like, but I do enjoy beat 'em ups, so I have my hopes.

How are the turtles and Mario not comparable. The Turtles have always looked cartoony, just like Mario. Even in the live-action movies (which I have no nostalgia for) they looked a bit cartoony.

It's true that some people will complain about anything, but in this case it's rather reasonable. The designs aren't great and probably most importantly, the development team's track record isn't good. In fact, it's rather bad. It's not over negativity to think this game could come out the same. Still, they could surprise us.

If you're positive about the game, awesome. If you're negative about the game, awesome. Just don't sit there and think that everyone should feel the same about it.

I'm not sure what to say about the game at this point. It's too early to tell whether or not it'll be any good... and we've been set up for disappointment far too much in that regard. In all honesty though, after some of the sh**fest TMNT games we've been presented, they shouldn't have to work too hard to top 'em. Some folks have the attitude that any game marked with a TMNT logo is an instant masterpiece, when that just isn't so.

Right now, I'm simply hoping each turtle plays a bit differently.

Stay pessimistic... that way, if it isn't a total dump truck, you'll be all the more amazed.

I didn't mention that game because I hadn't played or seen it. But looking it up, it's the same situation. Different game from a different developer. Except with Thor, the Wii version got better reviews.

Maybe they're too busy making the game to answer the questions of a random person.

It's a Downloadable Title. Nintendo has a very weak market for that right now. Put it out on the services that make money and don't waste time with smaller services. Especially when it would require developing for that gamepad.
