80's probably, I've already experienced the 90's I only got to live 3 years on the 80's and I don't remember much.

But I'd find ways to get rich of it, get a valuable comic or win the lottery, **** time paradoxes gotta get some loot

Oh definitely, I'd go back in time with a list of all the winning lottery ticket numbers, all the stock listings, all the winning bids on all sports competitions, and everything. Basically do the same thing seen in Back to the Future.

If you know how everything will turn out, you'd be the next Donald Trump.

Although I picked the 90's, I loved the 80's just as much. I like to think that both eras were awesome in terms of movies.

I would love to relive the 80's mostly for the music. The shows weren't bad either.

I would love to relive the 90's for some of its music, but mostly, for the cartoons and the other shows during the time.

I don't want to live through either of those decades knowing what I know now of modern convenience and connectivity

I suppose it's different if you can remember being there are not needing that stuff, still, after having it, it would be very hard to go back to not having it.
So far as nostalgia, my teen years were in the 90s but it's my childhood decade which I feel more of a fondness for.

Like I've said, I was born in 1990, so I only truly remember things from 1996 on. If I went back and lived in the 90s as an adult I feel the magic would be ruined, and I'd rather not ruin my childhood memories. So yeah, I guess that's another factor for me to pick the 80s. I wasn't alive in that decade, so I have no emotional attachment to it. OK I like several 80s movies, shows, games, etc; but if you haven't actually experienced the decade you don't know what it was like. I think a lot of people of my age and younger romantise more the idea of the 80s they see on the media and not the actual decade itself... since they haven't lived through it.

I'd not looked at it like that, changing your childhood view on the decade. I'd still go there, sometimes I've wondered what being a teen/youth was like then, sometimes when I've seen movies, so I'm adding something to mine, I am going to be in the US too.

Aren't you past 30 already, though? Would you really want to hang out with 17-19 year olds?

Ahh yes, I was imaging being young too, early 20s.

Edit: So, if I must be me as I am I'll still choose the 80's as I remember the 90s better... either way no tech, curly hair and surrounded by cigarette smoke (to a lesser degree in the 90s)

Watching old 80's movies that has teenagers in it makes you realize teens have never changed all that much. They just didn't have cell phones, social media, e-mail, internet, etc....but 80's teens did pretty much the same thing teens of today do.

It's so weird though watching old movies from the 80's and seeing the characters say, "There's nothing good on TV" and then you realize they only have like 7 channels to watch.

And then you see them play videogames and it's usually old Atari stuff or NES games....

And it's so refreshing to see characters running to a payphone to make a call, instead of pulling a cell phone out of their pockets. They're like, "Do you have change for the phone?"

And they carry those big 80's boomboxes for music. Besides the few who have the new hi-tech Sony Walkman's.

Tbh, despite the technological limitations back then, at least people were more likely to socialise and go outside. I bet most kids back then would go outside and skate, play sports together, etc. And even when they played games they'd socialise by inviting people over to their home.

Also since there were no cell phones I guess parents didn't worry as much about their kids unless they were late for dinner or something.

My brother's first "console" was a ZX Spectrum. Not sure if CC is familiarised with it since it was mostly a European thing afaik.
