Fox's 25th Anniversary

What are your favorite moments or shows on Fox?

The network turns 25 with a special this Sunday the 22.

Answers can also be for FoxKids & Fox Sports.

If you vote other, please share.

My answers would be...

1). PSA music videos featured on FoxKids. One was done by Barenaked Ladies & two were done by Auto & Cherokee.

2). Jamie Walters doing The Heights (1992) & Clasic 90210.

3). Tom Bergeron makes his national tv debut on Fox After Breakfast (with Bob the Puppet, who was fired around Christmas).

4). Moolah Beach in 2001, where Kyle Searles began.

5). Of course, the game shows & reality games (Big Deal, The Next Great American Band, Greed, etc.)

I like The Simpsons, Family Guy, I used to like American Idol, but not anymore, Bob's Burgers, and House, though this will be the last season for that show, and it's not the same anymore without the original team.

I had no idea The Simpsons has been around since 1889. I know they've recently passed 500 episodes, but you'd think they'd have even more than that after being around for well over a century.

I like House. Have the DVD sets and watch every week. It's coming to an end after a great series. I hope the finale is satisfying.

Other Fox shows I liked...

1). Brisco County Jr.: The last Western ever. The theme song was so popular, NBC Sports used it for "Coming Up" highlights on the Olympics & for the 1997 World Series.

2). Oliver Beene; Andrew Lawrence was in that series.

3). Quintuplets; Ryan Pinkston & his catch phrase, "Yes I do, you likey?"

Most recent favorite show: 24. Hopefully they'll get the movie into production soon....dammit....

They cancelled Terra Nova before I even got to watch it.

Honestly can't decide between Simpsons and Family Guy. I think Family Guy became just as culturally relevant in a shorter period of time, but they've both been a huge influence on pop culture in general, which is hard for cartoon shows to accomplish.

I also love King of the Hill.

Even though technically not a FOX show, many fledging FOX affiliates first aired most of the syndicated episodes of the 1987 Turtles, so we can't deny that, and that was part of the foundation for FOX's success. Remember that in the early years, much of the programming was independent of the networks, and some other syndicated shows aired on other FOX affiliates, along with lots of reruns of old shows before there was TV Land and for those who didn't have cable to see Nick at Nite.

Don't forget the Tracey Ullman Show which gave us the Simpsons as well, and an honorable mention to NASCAR on FOX, even though it seems like that Sports' popularity peaked a while ago, but I really enjoyed watching Mark Martin/Jeff Gordon/Rusty Wallace/Dale Earnheart when he was still alive.

Hoped you like their tribute special. But jeers to Fox for not including game shows & Fox Kids.

After all, Power Rangers put FoxKids on the map It lasted 9 years before moving to ABC.

If Rita Repulsa saw that special, she would have such a HEADACHE!!!

The special was focusing on prime time shows. Are you really that surprised that they didn't mention any Fox Kids/Fox Box/4KidsTV shows?

Well now that I got a chance to watch the special, I'll just list my favorite Fox shows past and present:

My favorite comedies: In Living Color, Parker Lewis Can't Lose, Martin, Living Single, That 70s Show

My favorite sci-fi series: Flrefly

My favorite dramas: Beverly Hills 90210, New York Undercover, Party of Five, Boston Public

My favorite animated shows: The Simpsons, King of the Hill

My favorite kid shows (just for the heck of it): Fox's Fun House, Tiny Toon Adventures, Fox's Peter Pan and the Pirates, X-Men, Power Rangers, Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?, Masked Rider, BeetleBorgs, Digimon, Beast Machines: Transformers, Galidor, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

My favorite reality shows: as if

I forgot about a lot of those reality shows. They were just pathetic anyway, like most reality shows. One show I'm glad they didn't touch upon though, is Nanny 911.

I didn't really watch That 70s Show when it was active on Fox. Netflix was my means of seeing all the episodes once all the seasons made it to DVD. Same with Firefly. Strange thing is, I have no recollection whatsoever of Firefly ever airing on Fox.

I did catch the finale for That 70s Show though. It aired on my birthday in 2006, and it ended pretty much the way I imagined. The year 1979 would end and they'd go into 1980, and the part of the license plate that shows the last two digits of the year would read "80". I just wasn't counting on not seeing anything happen past the final second of 1979.
