I thought this might be a prequel series to NBC's 30 Rock.

People seriously need to stop swinging from this guy's dick.

He was a terrible wrestler and he's never been funny.

The Rock said on his twitter he lost his virginity at the age of 14. Is that going to be written into the show in some form?

For me... the Rock was amazing around 1999-2003 (when I was watching, REALLY watching WWE). For me, he was the reason to watch that sh** -- beyond Stone Cold, he was like the only guy that seemed "in on the joke" and that made it work for me, in wrestling. He was even fun in "Mummy Returns" (less so in the tame, wannabe Conan "Scorpion King"). Then he sort of... decided to lose his mass, become a somewhat muscled "everyman" action star for a while. That didn't work. His solo stuff around then never took off, either, or his experimental stuff ("Be Cool"). Then he helped out with Fast 5... and that really, really worked. Then he similarly did so in 6. Then it sounds like he kind of became too cool for school and started calling people out and making trouble behind the scenes on sets and shaking stuff up.

Yet he's never really ever made ONE franchise or even ONE movie stand on its own as a "OMG, amazing movie!!!" entirely on his own merit. Not one. Yet he still is causing ruckus here and there. This makes me respect him less.

The early/mid 2000's were a rough time for action movies outside of a few, and it basically pre-dated the whole superhero craze (X-men and Spiderman were the only franchises successful then), so he kinda missed the boat there.

He had pretty funny supporting roles in, "Get Smart" and "The Other Guys" but didn't really get a good movie role till the Fast movies or Jumanji. Or the voice role in Moana. He basically just got unlucky.

I never liked the rock much when I liked WWF back in 1999-2000 when the wrestling was cool. But he was definitely funny and the whole "cocky jerk" has always been his schtick, it's what made him popular in the WWF in the first place. Unlike other wrestlers who've tried movies, he has always consistently gotten roles since he started in the early 2000's so I think he's earned it in a way despite not having his "own" franchise, he just has charisma and people like him because of that.

I'm not a huge fan of his movies, he always just plays himself but he's ok. It wasn't until F&F that he really became a huge box office draw I guess but even back in 2001 his SNL appearances were very popular. I did find it odd when he was basically fighting with Vin Diesel about F&F since to me that's Vin Diesels franchise, but looks like the rock is popular enough and injected energy into it that he's seen as a big part of the franchise now, unsure never watched any of those movies.

I watched the trailer, it looks funny but I'd watch it as a 40 minute episode, I don't think I'd invest more on Rock's life for a longer mini series.

Dude is one of the highest-paid and overexposed anythings on tv and movie, and owns Vince Mcmahon's former football league.

Yeah, "unlucky"

I know nothing about wrestling so I can judge that part of his career. To me it seems like he has been a Schwarzenegger wannabe for all his life but at the end of the day he is more of a Vin Diesel-level actor with a nicer face. He seems a good guy though and I appreciate his "no pain, no gain" philosophy he perpetrates on Instagram. He deserve better than the kind of movies he gets a role in. After 20 years, he is still waiting for the right movie.

Would still be nice, as Andrew said above, if he got a huge movie franchise that he alone would be remembered for decades later like Schwarzeneggar with Terminator though.

It might be too late for that now though as he's pushing 50.

I saw an episode or two of this - it felt like it was filmed like Modern Family. It's something I probably would power watch once it makes it's way to Netflix someday. I dunno.

How many seasons did it last?

Sounds fair. They had pretty much covered everything, people forget his stint in wrestling full time was short lived, and all his drama off-screen with the Fast franchise and DC would have been off-limits.

I feel like more could’ve been covered about his early life, it was called “Young Rock” after all
