Yeah and why refer to Muckman as "Basic Muckman?"

The Brute Shredder repaint reminds me of the Shredder in the 2001 CGI pilot.

Lots of similarities in the color palettes sure, but I highly doubt Playmates designed that repaint with that in mind. They probably just thought it looked cool or would help sell more toys like all the other repaints.

Shredder looks cool in Gold armor in general, I'm surprised we don't see that more often.

"COULD be a little more detailed..." hahaha Dan always the optimist lettin Playmates get away with anything. Standing this Usagi next to the vintage versions is just embarrassing, like when Randy tweeted the pic of the vintage movie stars next to the '14 figures.

Yeah I doubt there's any reason for any of the palettes in these, let alone super obscure ones. I just never thought of CGI pitch Shredder when I saw him until it was brought up.

I know right? Same with his review of that Mcdonalds-level-quality Atilla figure. He basically just said "it could've been better" when that thing is clearly a piece of trash. But I guess when you get free toys you'll say whatever in order to keep getting 'em.

Dan is pretty much a biased shill. I appreciate the in-depth view his videos provide, & he seems like a real nice guy, but his reviews are far from objective or honest, generally.

On another note, I really wanted the samurai turtles until I saw all the stupid rainbow coloring choices they made. Wish the single pack figures had more "realistic" palettes. Hell, I'd be happy if the faceplates were just grey/silver/etc intead of matching their bandanas. That look is hella goofy.

The old sculpt has way more detail, but I don't really think it's fair to compare the two. One is the result of a sculptor with free reign going all out & the other strives to match the character's on-screen appearance with a sleek design. They're both cool for different reasons.

The original, awesome as it is, looks nothing at all like any iteration of Usagi. The new one, on the other hand, may be the most comic accurate of all!

Fits right in with his predecessors.

The new episode titles over in the season 5 thread just got me thinking. Does anyone else remember the first image we had of the Tales line that Greg Cipes posted? The one with all the logos like "Super Shredder""Samurai Turtles" & "Wanted: Bebop & Rocksteady"

One of the logos was for "Road Warriors", did we ever see any figures for this? I don't recall seeing them in the Toy Fair coverage and I'm pretty sure it was said that what we saw at TF is it for the line. With Kavaxas being cancelled I imagine these are too (strange though, Playmates normally love TMNT variants)

Only asking as it seems likely, based on the new episode titles, that Road Warriors would be based on the final arc of the series (speculated as being a Mad Max inspired post apocalyptic future)

Not sure about that one, but the monster hunter series seems to be moving forward. They even have a golden book for it. This might lead into the actual turtles being monsters as well.

Managed to get the entire set of repaint Battle Shell turtles on sale. I like the color break up on these more than the standard. Too bad they never fixed the stupid issue with the feet which prevents some of the turtles from standing evenly.
Also some of them still have weirdly uneven looking joint cuts at the back of their shins, especially on Donnie and Leo.

Still no luck with the Usagi wave for me. I found Muckman, Crimson Leader and most of the repaints I wanted very quickly, so I guess my luck ran out on these. Most stores around here are barren. It's like they know this line is essentially done and they're not bothering to restock much, if at all.

my local target hasn't had a single basic turtle figure since the Christmas purge.

I was in Salt Lake City this weekend and hit 4 walmarts, 3 targets and 1 Toys R Us and in one target had a single 20 Horse & Mikey Samurai. everywhere else had nothing. so frustrating trying to find these figures.
