LOL, my god, all the DC fans must have eaten that up.
Makes me wonder, how much of that is profit.

Cover price 3.99
I think they sell to distributers @ 50%...
still, even at 2.00$ a copy, that's a gross of $280,000.

Anyone more knowledgeable than I care to do the math on the overhead?

i know it's still early, but it was nice to finally have a DC event that wasn't a complete disappointment! hopefully the quality holds?

Probably doesn't include digital sales.

The thing is doesn't DC get all the profit and not IDW, because DC are the ones running and publishing the book?

I bet IDW would have loved to see their comics hit 140,000 copies a month, its unheard of for them.

i read quite a few titles from DC each month, and EVERY single one of those comics had an advertisement for Batman/TMNT, very prominently placed.

so DC has really been promoting the heck out of this event.

I am sure some licensing fees had to be paid still and also it doesn't really matter bc of how much attention this cross-over is bringing to TMNT right now.

Its more than that, bc the sales numbers in the link are for sales of physical copies only. DOES NOT INCLUDE DIGITAL ex Comixology.

So honestly this book could have sold another 75,000 and a digital comic is a cheaper to produce and distribute than a physical

Sure - that's fine, but I'm more interested in the profit. I'm not arguing they made an substantial amount, rather wondering just how much they made?

You often hear industry folks say "comics don't make money"

200,000 (estimate) in one month? On just one 22 page book? Pretty damned good.
