I do think paper fits the mood for this series better. And considering that Michelangelo is being depicted as more artistic than the others, his reaction to them would be something along the lines of "Enemies made of paper, you say?"

Just thinking of how the Origami Ninjas can inflict paper cuts on the turtles is painful in of itself
Nice one

the foot ninja's in rise are so creative.
Neither is better than the other, but after 2012 it's nice to see something different. |

Until further notice, the view is more along the lines of...

Also, this came to mind... (And yes, had too much time on my hands so I grabbed pics for it since that makes it better.) Let me show you what I do with paper! Spoiler:

The Origami Foot Soldiers just seem like such an odd idea to me.
As the others have mentioned, robotic Foot Soldiers are okay, but kinda dated now since it's been done already, and the novelty of them has grown stale. Keep them as flesh & blood Foot Ninja. The first two live action movies had no problem with outfitting trained ninja in stretchy black body suits and masks. Quote:

I love the mystical paper ninja concept. It's fun, & way more cost effective for The Foot.
Doesn't matter if you call a sheep a goat, it's still a sheep. This series, is a comedy/action series. It was stated from the very beginning to be exactly that.

Action, i can agree with but certainly not comedy... the occasional joke here and there among any show is fine in my opinion no matter what the genre, just as long as its not overdone

There's nothing for you to "agree" with. They said it's a comedy driven show. There's gags/jokes in every bit of footage we've seen so far. If you don't find it funny, fine, but its genre is not up for debate. We're talking about Rise, specifically, not the franchise overall. Not sure what you're trying to communicate here.

Rise is likely more comedy centric than the 2012 series was, and that was comedy focused too just mixed with action.
Overall though all the clips we've seen have shown plenty of fighting, so this is still a traditional action series. |

I am asking about the 2012 cartoon. I do not remember if it was addressed or not. I do not have inimate knowledge of this cartoon like I do the 1987 cartoon and 2003 cartoon.

Someone else might explain better but the Kraang basically supplied Shredder with robotic foot soldiers as a deadly weapon against the turtles, his human soldiers were diminishing in numbers, those who moved to NY (turtles taking them out) Have I missed anything, someone else?
Human soldiers came back when Karai started to take over the foot. Last edited by newfan; 07-09-2018 at 10:20 AM. |

You said you watched the entire Nick cartoon, it's brought up the first episode of Season 2 that Karai uses the Foot-bots. They also had declining members of humans wanting to become Foot after Chris Bradford was mutated and his school declined.

Kraang was making the robots for me and in return Baxter was giving them mousers. That was our deal. Later they showed Baxter how to make them and when i stopped working with the kraang it was him who was making them. I had much fewer robots than the 1987 series because i only wanted to kill the turtles and not conquer the world like i did in 1987 series. Kraang knew it and because of that they didnt gave me lot of powerful robots but only few and weak ones. I also had a big decline on humans want to train on nijitsu and then become Foot Ninjas because they learned that my enemies are not just humans but some mutant monsters. And they were afraid to fight mutants. If all of my enemies were just humans then i wouldnt have decline members.
In 2018 series i will have also humans and robots too not just magical ninjas. Like in the 2003 where i had most of them humans but also had some robots(foot tech ninjas and foot mechs) and also foot mystics(untilt hey got free of my control). The same thing i will do again and have humans robots and mystic/magic foot ninjas all work for me at the same time

Safe to assume you don't have the Nicktoons channel then?
I will never understand Nick's treatment of that show after a bit, letting it air/premier all of ONCE on the regular channel before throwing it onto Nicktoons. Gee, no wonder some kids might lose interest and forget about if, to them, the show doesn't even appear to exist. You can't sell your product if you're going to hide it from your consumer. Maybe they'll treat this next crappier one with the respect that the better previous one actually deserved. |
