Nicest guy you've ever met despite his super heel gimick. He's been suffering for a long time, so I'm glad he's finally at peace.

Must be a sweet party going on with him and Gorilla.

Bobby Heenan is arguably the quintessential heel in all of WWE, then known as WWF at the time. He was so slimy as a manager and a commentator that you wanted to punch his lights out. At the same time, you gotta admire his commitment to the business and commentary style. Few men can replicate what he has done.

As Katie pointed out, Heenan's been dealing with a lot of health issues. I know that despite them, he still pulled a classy and entertaining speech at the Hall of Fame in 2004. His speech to this day remains one of my top 3 favorites from that showcase.

Regardless, it really sucks he's gone. However, I'm also happy because the man kept fighting to the end and he's reunited with his old buddy Gorilla Monsoon. When working on Nitro, Heenan said the following regarding Monsoon's passing, "Gorilla will be sadly missed. Now he was one big tough man. He was a decent honest man. And we're all gonna miss him very much. And you know the pearly gates in heaven? It's now gonna be called 'the Gorilla position.' Goodbye, my friend." With the exception of the Gorilla position sentence and changing Monsoon's name to Bobby, this honestly summarizes my thoughts on the whole thing. I extend my condolences to Heenan's coworkers, family, and all of his fans.

Rest in peace, Heenan. You'll always be one of the all-time greats.

Man, I always liked Heenan's commentary on Nitro. Also liked his column in the old WCW magazine called "Brain Reaction." I knew he had health issues, but he lasted a lot longer than I thought he would and will be missed by a lot of people.

Legendary manager, looked the pits in his final years but always had a tremendous spirit about him

Some of the bloodiest matches I ever seen was Bobby getting the crap beat out of him.
He would be completely covered in blood, the kind of thing a kid doesn't forget.
Met the guy a couple of times, he was quite the jerk, going to miss him.

They did a great tribute to him on RAW last night and I loved the tweets that were coming in from the Superstars.
