Shocking to think we are at the midpoint of the series. I hope when it is all done it gets collected.

Read up to issue 15 now, its amazing how enjoyable this is in color. Don has control of his body again although he's still a cyborg, Raph becomes the Shredder and Splinter is captured by the Foot as a bat, and Leo and Mike are getting things back together. Forgot the CPU that came off Don and went onto Lurch just flew into space, pretty sure we never saw it again. Everything feels right at home with Mirage, still don't see why people think anything that happened in Image feels out of place with the Mirage universe. PL would do the same changes to the Turtles in Volume 4.

I love this series, edgy and fresh feeling every time I read it

I genuinely dislike the comic, but it’s important to me that it gets published and finished, so I’m still subscribing. I guess this is the only time I’ve ever done this and it feels weird.

I've been in a similar position before. I rented "Batman vs TMNT", because I like the general direction it takes the characters, even if I find the execution lacking. Also planning to buy a copy, digitally, by the end of the year. It does feel a little weird, but there is a purpose behind it.

I wonder if they would go this route with Vol 4? Releasing single issues in color until we get the long awaited conclusion? Is that off the table for Archie?

Yeah, that's not happening.

#2: I don't see IDW stepping in to finish it independent of him. Plus Jim won't do it without him anyway, and a Vol. 4 finisher without either Jim OR Peter would be pretty senseless. #3: I don't see IDW even being interested in giving Vol. 4 the "Urban Legends" treatment. At least not anytime in the (remotely) foreseeable future.

They will likely want to wait for Peter. Although, if they feel they are running out of books to publish, and it appears to be a profitable option, perhaps it's possible they decide to just release what they have, and if Peter ever wants to finish it, later on, they could still give that a decent promotion and provide trades for anyone interested in catching up on the "true ending of TMNT". I don't know. You're probably right, but I'm just exploring possibilities. |

I'd love for it to happen, but we've got a much better chance of Andrew finishing it than Peter.

On the other hand... if IDW started collecting Vol. 4 and crept up to the point he left off, maybe that would give him a little "push" to get back in the zone.

That's kind of what I thought...maybe in 32-64 months (if they go bimonthly), perhaps it would be a different situation, not sure if Peter would get extra royalties for this? But the page count is bigger than other comics so not sure if this would be IDW's cup of tea. One can dream.
Sorry to get off topic! Maybe this could be moved to it's own thread?

Didn't PL once write on his blog that he considered releasing an outline of the remainder of vol 4 up to its conclusion?

Give PL till he's 78, maybe then we can say he'll never finish it.
