Ooh that was unexpected in my opinion, I mean at least the 2012 series got what?Three seasons before moving it to that deadly channel? Korra series got it worse though, fandom had to watch all its episodes online during its third season I believe. Having the series get a third season is a no though, I couldn't care either way. I just want a good conclusion for the characters, Leo stepping into his leadership role in season two. I just write this series as a failed experiment and move onto the next version. Hopefully they learned from past mistakes.

Really, this is one of those times where a Mod might want to make an edit to the thread title (along the lines of "Updated: Nevermind, false alarm"). Luckily I was skeptical, so didn't get my hopes up. |

"Flushed but Never Forgotten" (premiering 10:30pm eastern Nicktoons tonight 10/12) is repeating 9:30am Sunday (tomorrow 10/13) on the regular Nick channel. Go figure. (Previously listed as the next ep, but changed to this one this morning.)
So now, since a repeat does air on reg Nick, that makes the believed "move" to Nicktoons a bit questionable and the random late hour even weirder? (Yeah, forget any darkness being the reason. lol) And yet the normal day, time and channel slot this morning is, naturally, a Spongebob repeat. Last edited by IndigoErth; 10-12-2019 at 07:55 AM. |

Let's face it, I don't think Rise will make it past its 2nd season. we haven't even finished season 1 & yet they are airing the recent episodes on Nicktoons. Once they move to Nicktoons and esp. on a nite time slot, it's pretty much over for this series

I'm glad for the franchise. Not cheering the fact that people may lose their job, but that's just how these things go.
I know this is aimed at children, and in that way, I shouldn't worry too much about the direction it takes, but I don't think the franchise is being handled to it's full potential. This is the TMNT product with the biggest spotlight on it right now, and it's not a great representation. Let Nick & Viacom learn a lesson here. |

I'm not sure there's much of a lesson to be learned. This show was cheap to make, required very little thought or resources, made at least a little bit of money, kept TMNT "relevant" to little tykes and filled a niche in between "real" Nickelodeon TMNT cartoons.

It is odd how it quietly moved new episodes to that channel. Guess they lost faith in the show. Must be doing horrible in the ratings compared to most, than again I don't think Nick has any thing special on it besides Spongebob or that house show forgot its name. Is Disney beating Nick in the ratings now? Well any ways, I just want a nice conclusion. Hopefully season two and final slowly sets up for Leo to be leader and Shredder's official return but yah my wish at least.

I like to think anyone creating a TMNT product will look at the relatively larger success of TMNT 2012 in comparison to this and think "hey, maybe it's a better idea to stick to the original formula." It's a best case scenario. |

It doesn't surprise me that it moved to Nicktoons one way or the other, since they don't seem to keep much in the way of cartoons consistently on the main channel anymore other than Spongebob, and even 2012 moved while it was still a pretty good show, but the 10:30 at night part is a little baffling.

Well from what I recall the show looked like Ren 'n Stimpy from the 90's MTV days of animation, so maybe that's what they are going for now?
Prob not. |

I actually think that if you don't want to go serious and dramatic, then this is the best thing you could do. An adult-swim style TMNT cartoon could actually be pretty cool.

Actually, a Rick and Morty-like AdultSwim TMNT show where it's like the TMNT constantly going on Mirage-like adventures back to back (Triceraton arena, time travel, Halls of Lost Legends, etc., etc.)... I mean, eh, that wouldn't be the worst thing.

I think the best way to describe this show is it was a, "stopgap" cartoon, inbetween the successful 2012 cartoon, and whatever cartoon Nick makes next.
I honestly don't think they were expecting this to be that succesfull (although of course they hoped it would be), as it almost feels like a "filler show" so to speak, between big productions. I think it's also why promotion for this show is nowhere on the level of the 2012 cartoon, when that show had new eps airing they promoted the hell out of it both on TV and online. You always knew when a new episode was coming. The sheer difference between that and Rise is rather obvious. |

I sort of imagine it looking something like the original TMNT playmates art, personally. |

Voiced by John Cena, the guy that Nick really has a thing for these days, for whatever reason? Ain't nobody gonna kill off Draxum. At least not any time soon, and at that rate it might be toward the end of the series.

Not really checked in on Rise since the first few episodes. How are the ratings these days? I know this board is kinda dead but I attributed that more to the show not really being "all ages", so less people here watched it than watched 2012, than I did it flopping.
Don't really see much for it in the UK besides the toys in stores. By that measure 2012 was definitely bigger (more clothing and other merch as well as toys) but it's hard to really measure. If it's dead after 1 or 2 seasons, hopefully the next incarnation will be a little more traditional and all ages. But I'd also be up for a show aimed purely at kids (like Rise) and another show aimed at an older audience. Unlikely but I can dream. |

I don't see why this show isn't all ages, I mean sure the show isn't dark has the previous two iterations but it doesn't mean its automatically just for kids.
