Digimon Adventure Returns for a new Season

So yesterday was Odaiba Memorial Day

Yesterday they had the live "Digimon The Animation 15th anniversary" event

and then at the end they announced a new season featuring the adventure cast, at least Taichi,

I mean, it can't be as bad as Adventure 02 can it?

I was jumping up and down screaming the first time I saw that on youtube. Sure Digimon hasn't been half as good as it was with 01 and tamers but there is hope. I mean as long as they don't bring any writers or producers or anything from Xcros Wars I'm sure it will be OK. You know what I'm going into this optimistically. I mean they already corrected one dumbass mistake from 02 and Taichi is the main protagonist again. So I think things are looking bright.

Xros Wars was okay, I feel that it and Frontier are about average, my favorite is still Digimon Savers.

Though the best digimon is still the movie Digimon X-Evolution

I tend to rank digimon as

Favorite: Savers

X-evolution > V-Tamers > Tamers > Xros Wars manga > Adventure = Next > Xros Wars = Frontier > sh!t > Adventure 02 > Xros Hunters

I was excited for Data Squad and saw two, maybe three episodes which were alright, but then they switched the date without any announcement that I saw... and now I don't have cable, so #yolo.

Honestly, though, I'm more stoked for All-Star Rumble. I didn't have an N64 so Rumble Arena, while the poor man's Smash, was all I had access to and I loved it.

That was an April Fool's Joke I thought.

Anyway, new egg was put up two days ago and it hatched today. Looks like on May 4-6, they're going to stream all of Digimon Adventure on NicoNico. Each day playing a set amt of eps and seems on May 6, they'll release/reveal more information about Tri including the schedule and cast.

We now have a trailer and release date.

November 21 2015 also some reports say it will not be a tv series but 6 movies. Looking at the animation I'm not shocked if that's the case. Looks like it got a bigger budget then normal TV anime. Also here is the voice cast.

Mutsumi Tamura as Kōshirō Izumi
Hitomi Yoshida as Mimi Tachikawa

From what I heard none of these are the original voice actors they have been completely recast.

No, they aren't. The strangest thing about this is Mimi. Maeda Ai is back to perform the ending, but not to voice Mimi? It's just strange, and she still is actively voice acting.

Oh, okay. So we would have between 21-24 episodes of 24 minutes like a regular cartoon season in the USA.

Any thoughts on how the Digimon Emperor would fit in? Alternate Ken perhaps?

probably, if this is truly the time that which isn't meant to be, then yeah, in this timeline, Ken is still the kaiser.

I got the impression that he was erased from existence along with Davis, Yolei, and Cody. I thought if Alphamon is a part of an alternate Earth's Digital World then maybe this is Earth-2 Ken from Alphamon's Digital World.

Can't get my dream team yet since I can't obtain Royal Knights until chapter 19

though will be trying to get Cherubimon Black soon. couple of mistranslations in the game, but nothing really game breaking.
