Prometheus sequel dated for October 6, 2017

Back to the Future is literally required viewing. It's one of the most important film trilogies of all time. How could you have not have seen it after all these years? Just doesn't make sense.

After seeing all the leaked stuff and trailers and promotional material, I'm reaaaaally excited for this movie. I'm a big fan of what Prometheus was before it became Prometheus, back when it was Alien: Engineers. I LOVE the design of the creatures made for it, and the leaked script is awesome. From the looks of it, Covenant seems to be adapting A LOT from Engineers. The Neomorph seems to be almost exactly what the Beluga Xenomorph would've been, right down to its creation. From leaked set images, it seems some of the creatures in David's laboratory are exact copies of some proposed designs from Engineers. I'm so freaking hyped!!

The Xenomorph, Neomorph, and Face-Hugger get some new shots, and they're amazing, so chilling. The effects look fantastic.

Yep. I have a feeling I'm going to walk out of the theater mad and disappointed. I'm worried they are essentially going to abandon the Engineer storyline just to have some xeno retread because of the Prometheus backlash. I think I'm going to be really pissed with some of the creative decisions they make with David too.

* We'll barely see the engineers. They're already dead before the film begins. We probably see a 30 second flashback of David wiping them out.
* David creates the actual Aliens only 10 years before Alien, thus negating Predator 2, AVP 1 and 2, and pretty much... any comic or book where you see an Alien pre-first Alien movie.
* I *suspect* Noomi will be the first host of the xenomorph.

Very, very stupid. It's Ridley Scott's ego wanting to wipe his butt all over the franchise and reassert himself in the middle of it all, wiping out what he doesn't like.

And really... the whole draw, the whole big tantalizing cliffhanger of Prometheus was, "Whoa... next we're going to meet the Engineers in their homeworld. That's going to be amazing." And now we're going to get none of that at all, just running and screaming and guns.

I agree with your other points, but why would the crossovers even matter? The Predator 2 skull was just a fun little reference put in, not anything intended to be serious. The AvP movies are just bad overall, being obvious cash-grabs that weren't intended to be canon or whatever by the respective franches.

It remains hysterical to me that as much as Ridley hates the AVP movies... he literally remade AVP 1 with Prometheus. Almost note for note.
