I'm pretty sure watchmen as an R rated animated watchmen movie was announced in 2017 and after a quick google searc i'm right it was even called "faithful", so by the time it releases it will have been 7 years since the original announcemnt and release: https://www.cbr.com/watchmen-r-rated-animated-movie/

I wonder what direction they'll go with Crisis on infinite earths, an adaptation of the comic with liberties taken like their other direct to movies? Or will they actually go out and have team ups from the different DC cartoons, now that would get me excited as hell, I don't care if they can't get the VAs back, I'll take that over a generic adaptation, what makes crisis cool is seeing the different characters you've loved in a mission together. if you don't know them it can be a fun story but not nerdgasm fun.

I mean, it would just have more impact to have DCAU Supergirl die instead of a "new" supergirl for this movie. Have superboy from the failed legion of superhero cartoon set up as Superboy Prime instead of a generic superboy. Those would give you some emotion since you actually watched them before and they had a story. They're shows have been dead for years, no reason not to do something creative with them.

The Crisis movie will be part of the recent DC animated movie universe that began with Superman: Man of Tomorrow, Supergirl featured in a recent movie about the Legion so I expect if they're being faithful, they'll kill off the version from that film

Anyone remember when the live-action movie came out and all people could talk about was Manhattan's dong?

Crisis on infinite earths is cool because you see all the infinite earths and heroes get destroyed. If it doesn't include the animated characters we've gotten to known over the last decades it feels pointless, it' not that good of a story. Even the CW adaptation understood that. It's not like its going to be a faithful retelling of the comic story either, or that that one mattered if it didn't include earth's people cared about.
This really might be the most pointless movie they've made, even more than remaking the death of superman a second time and still doing it wrong.

Just imagine the free marketing and buzz it would've gotten if the trailer had BTAS Batman interacting with Fleischer Superman, Aquaman from Brave and the Bold, Robin from Teen Titans, and Wonder Woman from Young Justice. Killing Supergirl from the DCAU we know and love would have a huge impact etc. It could've been fun, I mean it's a cartoon, they could've made the different art styles work.

I hope Watchmen is treated better.

The Snyder movie was really good - ahead of it's time in many ways for film. But I'll most likely support the Watchmen animated flick too - the grassroots comic book sensibility of the whole thing could be fun.

The first three are so good, especially the Long Halloween. I would’ve loved to see more comic adaption movies rather than another reset but oh well
