Hi can someone please give me some advice, which is better to buy, The Star Wars Blu ray boxset, or the 6 new steel book blu rays that are out in November?

The box-set is about £55, the steel books will set me back abut £120

I'm pretty sure that everything is the same on both. It's just preference over box sets or Steel books

Yea I just checked, they are re releasing the box-set, which is out on Monday at £50. I think I will go with that. The steel books are nice, but not £20 nice

Thanks man

I would assume that the individual steelbook releases do not include the 3 bonus discs that comes with the box set? So if you're into bonus features, I'd recommend getting the box set. Unless the steelbooks also include them somehow, then knock yourself out.

I just picked up the Batman: TAS volume two DVD set. Been watching vol. 1, and decided I couldn't wait to see the next bunch of episodes, so I broke down and got it. I had forgotten how great this series was!

I bought the platinum edition of Aladdin about two years ago that was released in 2004. What is the difference in the two DVD editions?

The Blu-ray version has five new features:
- The Genie Outtakes: A collection of Robin Williams’ outtakes hosted by the directors and supervising animator Eric Goldberg. These alternate impressions play over temporary storyboards illustrations.

-Aladdin: Creating Broadway Magic: Broadway star Darren Criss hosts a look at the making of the stage version of Aladdin.

-Unboxing Aladdin: Joey Bragg from Disney Channel's Liv & Maddy discusses the film’s cameos and in-jokes.

-Genie 101: Scott Weinger (the voice of Aladdin) runs down some of the Genie’s celebrity impressions.

-Ron & Jon: You Ain't Never Had a Friend Like Me: The directors talk about their time at the Disney studio. It includes footage from their original animation tests and photos of them during early days.

A lot of the special features from the platinum edition were carried over to the Blu-ray version. As for the ones that didn't make it, they'd be:
-Pop-up facts
-Aladdin's Magic Carpet Adventures: A Disney Virtual DVD Ride
-Inside the Genie's Lamp (self-guided tour version)
-3 Wishes Game: Your Fortune Revealed
-Still Frame Galleries in the "The Art of Aladdin" feature
-Publicity Gallery in the "Publicity" feature

Thanks, Storm Eagle. I dont think it is worth a repurchase for two features that interest me, Unboxing Aladdin and Ron and Jon. After awhile they might appear on Youtube. Its one of two or three Disney films that have a soecial place with me even as an adult.

One of the best movies ever made, in high definition. That's enough for me.

I also have the DVD copy from 2004, but I'm still holding on to it since it has features that didnt make it to the Blu-ray version.

Starting with The Black Cauldron Disney had state of the art animation and makes me surprised it went all 3-D animation on 2005 with just one movie made in crisp 2-D HD. I dont lnow what it is, the Rocky-like story, the animation sequences, I just always loved it. It got a fill arc and a end through three movies and a short-lived series. If I am not misyaken Aladdin pinoeered the Disney video sequels which must have proven a success. If those two geatures make it to the net let me know or better yet describe in bullet points what I miss in the two features sometime.

I thought this was always a fact and made perfectly clear. Never thought it eas merely a fan theory. Well, now it is cleared up.

What do you mean when you say "describe in bullet points what you miss in the two features"?

I plan on getting AoU soon myself. Unfortunately, I've already spent most of my "fun stuff" budget for this paycheck....
