Weird I thought he already died. I'm probably confusing it with Paulie the character dying in Creed.

Great actor. Very memorable.
I wonder how different "Rocky Balboa" would have been if Paulie was dead, not Adrian. He had a very powerful scene with the "why wasn't it me?!?!" there.

It’s hard to pick a favorite Paulie scene because he steals almost every one he’s in.

Close second is the short exchange later. Rocky: I see three of him out there. Paulie: Hit the one in the middle. Duke: Right! Hit the one in the middle.

It's kinda funny how "old" Paulie looked in the old movies....from the 80's.
I swear back then people got old really fast and then looked the same for 30-40 years, considering he died just now in 2023 and he already looked old in the mid/late 80's. Goddamn. |

Not his best, but I liked how he actually paid some attention to giving Rocky Jr. some training attention when Rocky was focused on Tommy Gunn (can't really blame Rocky given the circumstances, but it was a nice moment for Paulie).
I also like Paulie's "Yo Yo Yo" Santa impersonation. Paulie would have been the kind of Santa whom Philadelphia Eagles fans would have pelted with snowballs.

Paulie was a love/hate vibe for me. He had his moments, but he was also a piece of sh*t to his sister, bummed off Rocky, was a borderline racist to Apollo, had a fetish for a robot, inadvertently forced the family to go bankrupt, and got laid off from a job he was institutionalized in.
And Burt Young played that role to perfection. He will be missed.

Arguably, Paulie can’t take all the blame for the family bankruptcy, as he was just dealing with an accountant that Rocky/Adrian had already established a business relationship with, but I’d have to rewatch that part again to remember who initiated the deal. I think, established accountant recommended “power of attorney” on account of all of them traveling to Russia during the Cold War, probably saying it was in the best interest of their son in a worst case scenario. But Paulie has has regrets, no doubt:

Drago update:
https://www.darkhorizons.com/creed-s...ing-developed/ And yeah, it sounds like Jonathan Majors threw a major monkey wrench into Creed 4, as I suspected.
