I believe Donnie was just so desperate to finally fulfill his promise to April, that he doesn't question how Kirby was able to send a coded message. I certainly hope that it's just brainwashing and not a Kraang droid.
As for my thoughts on the episode. It wasn't what I initially expected, I had hoped maybe Donnie would have snapped and laid the smack down on Raph for the whole Donatello the puppet. But I like how they had Raph giving Donnie a heavy dose of reality by telling him that he doesn't have a chance with April. I also liked how Leo's was concerned as where Donnie was. Though he should have checked the lab first and maybe the dorms before asking Raph and Mikey about where Donnie could have gone. I also thought Leo and Mikey defending Donnie's feelings to Raph was also a nice touch. Yeah they also didn't think Donnie and April would ever be a couple, but they don't say anything because they know how sensitive their brother can be. As Mikey says: The heart is a soft muscle...squish. Also whenever Raph was trying to act impulsively Leo would stop him and calmly say "What would Donnie have done?" And Raph making everything up to Donnie with him saying that he was the real hero was just sweet to watch. I am so looking forward to the season finally to see the how the everything plays out. |

I can't wait for the season finally though I hope they reveal why the Krang want April and who/what she is and not extend that mystery for another season or two.

Maybe she isn't hearing the object so much as sensing it psychically.

Yeah, like she's sensing the object's vibrations. That makes sense. But if Splinter is like her, why is it that he couldn't hear the sound and only April could?

Move over The Gauntlet this is officially the best episode of the season.
I'll have more the say later, but right now I'm just going crazy over how awesome that was.

I wonder if Shredder and the Krang will stay allies in season two or beyond or will it more then likely fall apart around the end of this season.

Okay, back. This episode did everything The Gauntlet did right by managing to have the perfect mix of suspense, comedy, action, and plot advancement. So much for 24-odd minutes.
Bullet time:
I'm so ready for the finale! Oh, and sorry for double posting.

Season Two Description: Season two starts off with a bang when the Turtles accidentally drop a Kraang shipment of mutagen canisters all over NYC. It becomes one of their ongoing goals throughout the season to recover the canisters before more mutants can be created. At the same time, the Kraang and Shredder have united to put an end to the Turtles once and for all – which results in some very scary characters coming after the Turtles. Luckily, the Turtles get some help when the meet teenage hockey player and voluntary vigilante, Casey Jones. With Casey’s help, the Turtles work to fight the bad guys all the while trying to unravel the mystery regarding April O’Neil and her importance to the Kraang. The biggest reveal was a sneak peek at Casey Jones, a rebellious teenager about to be kicked off the hockey team. When he discovers his city is being infiltrated by mutants and aliens, he does what any normal teenager would do – outfits himself with a mask, homemade weapons and takes to the streets as a vigilante. |

And, yes, I knew I had seen that look somewhere. I was thinking Tiger's Western look from Fievel Goes West.

I think that was supposed to be a passing reference to "Cowboys of Moo Mesa" a western themed spin off of the Mirage comics that centers around a trio of cowboys who are Anthropomorphic cows.

Does anyone else notice that the belt buckle on "Buckeroo" Mikey looks like one of the Cowboys of Moo Mesa? Just an observation.

I like how Donatello is the one to name the Newtralizer, And mentions how Mickey is very protective of that stuff.
