I can’t believe 5 pages are wasted on looking for horrible weasel characters.

Is this a new artist? Resembles some Mirage artist art styles.

Yes, this preview is indeed a showcase of why this run does not work. The weasels have no real personalities and have barely done anything, I don't see why any reader would be able to care about them. The fact that they chose to side with Hob or any of the good guys caring about them being missing means nothing to me. Even if the weasels weren't a waste of space, five wordless pages dedicated to conveying how sad it is that they're gone isn't necessary, if anything it's padding. And keep in mind, this issue issue is probably only going to have 20 pages if you discount covers, letters column and adverts, at least 1/4 is just this.

This is inane.

No, there's just a bunch of weasel characters we're expected to care about, not because their personalities or character development (they really don't have either by the way) but because they're meant to be "cute".

The problem with the Weasels and Lita, is they feel like the cute kid spinoff characters you would find in a cartoon aimed at kids. That's exactly what they feel like, the added sidekick characters when a cartoon feels it needs to lighten up for kids.

But in a comic like this, they just feel like an odd inclusion. IDW was always aimed at adults and they feel like they're aimed to bring kids into reading the comic. The future Lita story is concluded at least for now, so now they're just kinda there. The other problem is they did this Old Hob/Weasels story about 3 times already in this same run, how many times are we going to focus on Old Hob trying to lure them back to his side only for the Turtles/Raph to chase Hob down again? I swear they JUST did this in the last story arc, and two times before.

Quality writing from a good author, amirite?

Maybe Campbell should write cartoons and SJW crap, as opposed to adult works?

That's exactly what she's doing, except for some reason people are letting her call it TMNT.

Nope. The series has always been aimed at a older teen audience, any adult fans they've gained via nostalgia or curiosity or whatever has always been secondary to this.

Let's be honest, older fans dropped this series long long time ago.

Touched that one up a bit to make it slightly more accurate.

To be fair, I know I've seen issues of Genus that had stories with better plot than the last two years' worth of IDW TMNT have had.

I mean, at least that book embraces what it is instead of shoving it into another franchise...

Poor choice of words on my part, there.

I'd say plotting those are a strength of Sophie's. The opening pages of #101 absolutely wrecked me.

If they did make an animated series of this, I think chris slater would be a good choice for old hob for how he was in mr robot and inside job.
