I love Capullo's Quasar run. It was amazing and had some of the best energy projection and dynamic flight illustrating that I've ever seen.

Oh, somebody misquoted it on FB then.
Weird, Heavy Metal Superman kind of sounds better.

When I saw this, my first thought was: "Wow, did the Superman IP finally enter the public domain?"

I love Capullo's work but haven't enjoyed Scott Snyder's writing since Court of Owls.

Hah, my wife is gonna love that.

I'm so far out of the loop I wouldn't even know what's going on with that, I missed the "Dark Knight: Metal" stuff entirely so I'd be totally lost.

Death Metal is meant to be an immediate follow-up to Snyder's Justice League, a run which ended with the DC public choosing 'doom' over 'justice', reality breaking up into different timelines (to explain why there was no coherent continuity co-ordination between ANY of the books), oh, and a cliffhanger, so the actual run itself was incomplete in an attempt to coheres you into buying this nonsense for the 'complete story'

Dark Nights: Metal was phenomenal (to me, at least), and I'm super stoked to see this sequel series.

If you didn't enjoy Dark Nights and don't think you'll enjoy Death Metal, I don't think you get the point \_(ツ)_/

People "get it" just fine, they don't like Dark Knights: Metal because Snyder's a hack and it led to the DC titles slipping back into edgelord misery which killed it dead the last time, plus Judge Dredd..sorry 'Batman Who Laughs' is a totally overpowered creator's pet karma houdini.

Totally. I hate TBWL. So tryhard. Looks like a megadeath rip off.

I feel like I kinda like the concept but I can't speak yet to the execution.

The words "Dark Multiverse" kinda grab my attention, for example, but as others have said, there's stuff about it that does seem like it could be "edgelord/tryhard/Your Buzz Word Here".

I'unno. People say that about lots of stuff I like, and in some cases I can kinda see where they're coming from while still feeling that their specific criticism is overblown. I'll have to see for myself one of these days. The Dark Knights thing seemed to go on forever though, that's one reason I haven't taken a look at it yet.

Could be cool, I'unno. I'm sure I'll find out eventually.

There were tie-in one-shots released last year called "Tales From The Dark Multiverse" which retell vintage 'edgy' 90s and 2000s events and make them even edgier.
