I like kickstarters, but this is getting old already.

From Kevin Wilson, designer:
Quote:
I do wish folks wouldn't spread rumors of games doing badly without any evidence of it. That sort of thing can do real harm to a game's future if folks read it and believe a game is dead or dying. TMNT has done quite well both as a KS and at retail, or so say my royalties. The delays on Cityfall had nothing to do with that and were more to do with licensing and scheduling.
Honestly, I like Kickstarter campaigns though I understand the pain of it if you don't live in North America. But they're fun to be a part of and usually get more for your moneys worth. Turtles variants, Bebop & Rocksteady (+human forms), mouser minis, art lithographs, Fugitoid, Ultimate Shredder... there was alot of cool extra stuff you only got being a part of the campaign.

I'm looking forward to doing it again

That was sold separately at retail, not included in The Works. I just bought it for the alternate sculpt as well as her updated/fixed cards. I did the same for Casey as well. Haven't gotten around to picking up Splinter yet.

Looks like this game is getting a soft reboot.

Change is Constant" and "City Fall" coming to Kickstarter.
Quote:
There will be TWO boxes at Kickstarter for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Miniatures Game...

Box One: Change is Constant
Box Two: City Fall

Both are going to VERY CLOSELY follow the IDW comics.

There will be no “works” edition.

Shadows of the Past had many issues regarding scale, and art and is NOT being reprinted, either will the 3 original hero packs.

The original characters from SotP will be spread across both Boxes.

Both boxes are STAND ALONE EXPANSIONS.

Each box has 5 heroes.

All minis have NEW SCULPTS and NEW ART.
Tiles are also having the art UPGRADED.
Returning content will be split between boxes 1 and 2 on top of new content. Spoilers! You can’t have City Fall without the Foot! (There is 30 resculpted minis retuning, with exciting changes to the foot ninjas also).

BOX ONE: Will follow the story up until just before City Fall

BOX TWO: Will follow the City Fall story.

Both Boxes will feature ALL NEW MISSIONS

Both Boxes will feature 4v1 and ARCADE MODE (AI)

The campaign will have add ons and stretch goals.
And from Pete Walsh...

Quote:
The factory that was producing SotP and the hero pack is gone, the game isn't being phased out, its unable to be reproduced in the same format.

Change is Constant (Box 1) and City Fall (Box 2) will both be stand alone games that also function as expansions for each other and SotP.

New boxes will have new heroes and villains, new ways to play original heroes and villains, new art for cards and graphic design, all new sculpts, 16 missions per box, remastered original tiles if you want to play your original SotP missions with new components...

There will be full co-op which we are calling Arcade Mode, 4v1 is also still in the box. 99% of missions can be played either mode.

The game will follow the comic much closer building the story as we go and have a major focus on the art of the IDW TMNT comic.

The tile art is also going to be set in the night, unlike the SotP tiles which were in a day setting... Since when do the TMNT work in the day...

Also to reduce duplication we have put 10 Foot Ninjas in each box, but the Ninjas in Box 2 are a different sculpt and are called Foot Soldiers with different stats and abilities (you can use them all as Ninjas to add variety to the table also).

We will have play opportunities at GenCon and a Pizza Party also. I will be there playing too. I will also bring my original figures to take photos with the new ones for scale.

interesting. I am curious about the scale issue since they def did have those. However, I really don't want to rebuy everything.

What were some other complaints from the previous set?

The scale was the biggest. Other complaints where the Hero packs (April, Casey, Splinter) having different sized cards. And no way to play the game solo. Most really liked the game play.

For me the biggest issue is the scale. I'm glad I got the works addition but if I had known the massive scale discrepancies I would have passed on it. My other gripe is that the "scenarios" really didn't follow the comics as they described the game to do.

Kinda sucks that they're reissuing everything especially considering that I've already gotten everything painted. But if this one mistep is all it takes to secure the future for the game, I'm all for it. Love this game.

I'm in the same boat here: love the game and almost done painting everything.

I do have some confronted feeling but I'm going all in.
Official announcement will be today about what time tomorrow the campaign is launching, I think there will be some strong and appealing surprises

This was just posted at IDW Games FB page

Apparently a full turtles line-up with Stan Sakai design is coming with the new game, and that wouldn't make sense without a Usagi Yojimbo miniature along

I can't wait for the Kickstarter... but they teased this a few hours ago on Twitter.
Apperantly the rarest TMNT figure is being included in the set as a game piece.
Not too much info yet but it's cool to see Scratch.

Our final reveal of the day is two-fold.

First, the Kickstarter will GO LIVE TOMORROW AT 8AM PACIFIC!

Second - through this Kickstarter you'll finally be able to get your hands on this incredibly hard-to-find TMNT classic character; Scratch!!

So the new Kickstarter is going to serve as a standalone game OR as an expansion? Or is it a re-issue with updated miniatures?

I ordered The Works last time but still haven't cracked the box open.

Shocked that nobody has posted... the Kickstarter is now live.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects...ures-city-fall

Went "All In" myself. It's a lot of money but they won't charge til 2/8 anyway.

I do love that they took the advice to allow the villains to be playable "Heroes" fighting the TMNT.

That add-on of character cards and dice for folks like Bebop and Rocksteady have me especially giddy.

And we're close to it already being backed and the first stretch goal being revealed. C'mon Mighty Mutanimals!

Update #1 - Funded Already. And the first Stretch Goal of The Stranger (Alt-Sculpt for Splinter) has been revealed.
Once we hit $230K he'll be unlocked and we'll find out the next one.

Too expensive for me. Over £220 with postage! Last Kickstarter cost half that and you don’t get stretch goals if you don’t go all in!

So disappointed but I hope the rest of you enjoy it. Might buy at retail if the price drops eventually.

Both, it can be played stand alone but all the old missions from the first game are compatible.

The Stranger was just funded. Now for another $10K he'll get a villain A.I. control card and 3 initiative cards.
Should have just been part of the last SG but I'm glad they're doing it.

Someone posted something here about there being an issue with respect to the scale of the miniatures on the last game. Do you know what he's referencing? Like I said, I still haven't opened the game.
