I went and checked my DVDs. I thought I had it 3 ways (I thought it was one of the ones on Mikey's Christmas, but it isn't.) so I watched the season 1 vol 2 release and the original Raph spine release. Both have the Laird sanctioned comic ending. I had to look online to a cartoon streaming site to find the original ending. I think THAT is the one that's harder to come by. I also must have only watched it off the DVD, or enough times to scrub the original ending from my memory, because I don't remember the Raph-less ending.

I remember being disappointed that original ending wasn't included as a special feature (or even Easter Egg) when the first official DVDs came out.

The new ending. As for where the clip of the original ending came from, my guess is that it's from an older international release on DVD. According to Peter Laird's emails, it seems like 4Kids wasn't in a hurry to recall the international masters with the original ending.

Just bought the iTunes UK release to check and it's the new version, first time I've seen it. I quite like the new ending, shows Donnie's angrier side, something seldom seen in Turtles

EDIT: The encoding seems to look much better for this episode than most of the rest of the series strangely

As for my DVDs , both of the US releases of the season ( season 1 ) have the longer ending with Raph . Same goes for the Russian DVDs ( They have 5.1 English Surround audios By the way and I got rid of the Russian audios for known reasons ) .

As for the UK DVDs that I also have , they have the shorter ending without Raph being in the end of it . I have a feeling it would be the same for the Australian ones and I hope someone can confirm that to us .
