Shredder Reveal
A bit off in the whole helmet, face mask, neck & head sculpt . . .
I'm disappointed and glad at the same time. Kind of crazy. Wish it were more precise like they've done with so many other figures, including the Turtles . . . Ehh, oh well. I'll still be buying him. I may just wait on the 6.5 inch version. Last edited by rh608; 01-15-2019 at 10:49 AM. Reason: modifications |

Adult collectors can purchase a 2008 Hasbro 3.5 inch Indiana Jones and the Last Crusader Henry Jones Sr., 2017 Diamond Select 7 inch Ghostbusters 2 Vigo The Carpathian, and now a 2019 NECA 18 inch Jim Henson TMNT Shredder figure. Yet, not one 18 inch or 7 inch prototype exists for a NECA Tim Burton Batman Jack Nicholson Joker yet. Color me even more shocked.
The Hot Toys Movie Masterpiece Deluxe Collectors 1/6 Scale DX08 Tim Burton Joker action figure was wonderful to stare at in big name comic book stores, but it obviously does not go with the NECA 25th Anniversary Tim Burton Batman 7 inch figure the way this Shredder will with the 18 inch Henson turtles. The 1990 Jim Henson Turtles movie did better than Tim Burton’s Batman from 1989, so this 18 inch Shredder figure being released first should not surprise me like it does. I will definitely be getting this. I'm going to reserve judgment on face and helmet until I have it in hand.

I did get all 4 of the turtles in 1/4 format but no, really no I am getting any others from that series in 1/4 size! From here on I clearly prefer regular action figure sizes for this series' figures that come after the green 4 in 1/4.

LOVE IT!
The armor blades could use a little rub and buff. I'm cool with the amount of sparkles, though. |

I’ll be psyched to see the 1990 movie Shredder in 7 inch scale.
I thought Jack Nicholson’s Joker was voted best comic book movie villain on a Onepoll.com survey… Instead of a NECA Tim Burton Joker, adult collectors and toy onlookers (like myself) got 90s’ Shredder from them first…In the words of Sheev Palpatine from The Phantom Menace, “A surprise, to be sure, but a welcome one.” |

NECA showing off more Shredder photos with their Facebook and Twitter profile pictures!
I've never needed a figure in my life more than now! I can't wait to find all the different possible poses for the Turtles to go up against Shredder with. However, I realize my current space for where my 1/4 TMNT are at is probably going to have to change soon since my girlfriend and I need to make that area be our designated work table space since both of us work from home a lot. I really don't want to put them in a glass case or have all five of them be side by side in a row since that doesn't feel as dynamic ... but I'm sure I'll think of something. My current set up area is below:

He looks much better than foot soldiers , his best pic is the one from NECA twitter avatar, that colour of his facemask is too bright and not metallic enough but its easy to change once i get him.
Im so glad Trevor Zammit started to sculpt the turtles in his spare time at NECA, if he wouldnt do that then we wouldnt get these but i wish shredder was finished by Jason Frailey instead of Alex Heinke because from what i see alex is focusing on specific detail and ignores keeping proportions correct so some of the sculpts are long faces or smaller eyes etc. which are detailed and accurate but proportions are the key. https://www.syfy.com/syfywire/making...a-Turtles-toys

While some details are off, I am beyond stoked for this figure! I passed on the foot soldier for now because I honestly don't love it. Shredder will be a MUST for the collection!

That figure looks awesome, though my favourite Shredder fig is still the DreamEx one, different versions of him though.

The more I look at this the less I think it looks off. I think the mask and helmet might need to be repositioned a little. I'm fine with it not being shiny. I guess it was, but I never thought of the first movie Shredder's armor as shiny. Plus I think he might be hard to photograph shiny.

This looks great. Love the irridescent dry brushing on the suit portion. I'm assuming it won't be there on the production run. Also, isn't the suit from part 1 more red/orange? Or am I missing something?

Looks like regular NECA eyes to me.
They are always all over the place.

Hopefully not. But if so maybe he can be fixed like ProdUK did Leonardo.

The grating on the face-mask is incredible. I love that you can see the skin beneath. Really hope that translates to the smaller version. Tough choice deciding whether to wait for that one.
