Mystery Ninja Turtle comic book art
I came across this piece of Ninja Turtle art in an antique shop in Baltimore, among a bunch of other original comic book art from the 80's. No markings on it.
I asked some of the Mirage guys and they have no idea what it is. I really thought it might be Matt Howarth. Certain elements look a lot like his work to me (although certain others definitely do not) but I emailed him and he said it wasn't. Anyone have any idea what this is? Sorry it's sideways on here, it wasn't before I uploaded it! Obviously, it could just be a fan piece by an unknown. Thanks for any help you can provide! |

Something about Raphael's face reminds me of Mark Bode's style in the Archie TMNT Adventures Specials.
EDIT: Or maybe Dan Seneres... http://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2012/07/fox-trap.html http://tmntentity.blogspot.com/2012/...t-evening.html

It could be a submission piece, when Mirage/Archie were doing the comics, then people would submit art samples drawing the turtles to be considered for work. I own a few of these myself. Trouble is now, working out the artist if there's no signature heh...

The art is very neat.
Maybe there is a whole comic book from which this page is. |
