I see. I've never played any of the N64 Castlevania games, so I dunno. Only seen the AVGN episode about them, but he sometimes exaggerates his criticism and the flaws of the games he reviews. It's part of his character.

I don't have many consoles and I would be hard pressed to think of one single game to define the whole console to me.

I can think of about 12 or more games, which define NES for me for examples.

Let's see.....

NES- Legend of Zelda (original), Final Fantasy, or Super Mario 3. Played the crap out of those. Also Duck Hunter, oddly enough.

Super NES- Probably Sonic or Starfox.

PS- Final Fantasy VII and VIII. My fave entries in the series.

X-Box- Halo and Morrowind. Morrowind was actually the game that convinced me to get the console, due to how gorgeous it was for those days.

360- ES: Oblivion, hands down. It's why we bought the console on preorder at launch of the system, and ended up going through TWO consoles and two copies of the game due to playing it so much! (First console got the RRoD, and we warped a disc from overheating playing it.)

Haven't owned anything newer, but X-BoxOne would have to be something like latest FallOut or Red Dead Redemption. Dunno, really. PS4? New Grand Theft?

PC- too many to consider anything definitive. I like Fate, Diablo, and Neverwinter Nights.

You must've had some SNES, if it had Sonic games on it.

And it's just "Duck Hunt". C'mon!

It's almost impossible for me to pick just ONE game per console, so I will have to cheat. Sticking only to consoles I own(ed).

- Atari 2600: Frogger, possibility the first game I ever played.

- Coleco-Vision: Donkey Kong. I only had a couple games for the system.

- NES: Super Mario Bros.

- SNES: Super Mario World

- Sega Genesis: Sonic the Hedgehog

- N64: Super Mario 64, Ocarina of Time, and the THQ wrestling games.

- DreamCast: Sonic Adventure. I only had one game for it. Then someone swiped my console.

- PS1: Metal Gear Solid and Final Fantasy VII

- PS2: Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty

- GameCube: Super Mario Sunshine, Zelda: Wind Waker, Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes

- Game Boy Advance: Fire Pro Wrestling Advance

- Xbox: Fable

- Wii: New Super Mario Bros. Wii, Super Mario Galaxy, and Twilight Princess.

- Xbox 360: This was tough, because I own more games for this console by far than any other. I'm going to have to just say the WWE series, notably WWE 2K14.

- PS3: Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection

- Xbox One: Metal Gear Solid V: The Definitive Experience

We picked up a Saturn a little over a year ago, but I haven't played much on that, so Virtua Fighter, I guess.

That's about it. Kinda tough; my collection is... Extensive.
