Well, the snow went away pretty much as quickly as it came. It was WARM today.

IDW reminds me of Telltale Games: they keep doing licensed stuff without creating new IP of their own and we all know what happened to Telltale.

Am I the only one (on a coast) who sometimes wants a tropical storm? Maybe not a full blown hurricane, but just a tropical storm to bring some excitement and beak up the monotony of a dull, hot summer. Though I guess I should be careful what I wish for.

Taking the salt out and putting other stuff in. It doesn't sound a cheap process. How much would a bottle of this refurbished water cost? I guess that's a solution you should take in consideration only if there aren't cheaper available ways of obtaining drinkable water.

Not so much for bottling, but thinking more for filling reservoirs and whatnot for farm and general area need where the natural water levels are too depleted. Boiling to remove the salts could be a simple enough process? If it could be piped into a constant stream of it. Heck... and produce saleable sea salt as a byproduct.

not feasible just like perpetual motion, it's not actually applicable as the process is costs more than what it would get out of. not to be a debbie downer, it'd be great if a forum post on a tmnt forum helped humanity but not possible.

Well I wasn't calling any business meeting over it or anything.
It's just a shame that, comparatively, oil pays big bucks to be piped in and refined and whatnot, but fixing local water issues with a big body of water right to the west isn't worthy of the expense to turn some of it into usable water to ease the drought. |

desalination isn't only just not cost effective, it creates a bigger carbon footprint than alternatives.

That's what I'll be saying when the f*cking nukes drop. Sooner the better, says I.
F*ck This Planet, F*ck These People. A failed experiment, all of it.

Why I've often thought of religion as just being most people's favorite fandom.
And why it would be hilariously absurd to live life based on literally any other improvable story, and a bit sad all the stuff people put effort into and waste time on in their life if it is in fact all just fiction... Like all the pomp and circumstance in churches on Easter, etc, esp the likes of those grand Catholic ceremonies, and if it isn't real... wow, all that effort for something pretend. |

Switch "fandom" for "cult" and I agree.
Especially the part about "Believing in a blatantly and provably false or harmful idea SO much that you'd be willing to kill people for it." Cult or Religion? Doesn't matter, same thought process at work. Dangerous, dangerous stuff. I don't mean the "belief in a higher power" stuff specifically, I mean all the OTHER insane stuff that fanatics tend to cling to. Stuff like "Having multiple wives is okay" or "God had a plan for your rape baby." Groupthink of ANY flavor is a disease, it's cancerous and deleterious to a society.

One of my favorite lines in 'Oh God'.
John Denvers character says 'But, I'm not religious!' too which God replies.. 'Neither am I!' That would be the biggest F U to all those people who devoted their lives to something they didn't even know it existed. And god would be ok with it either way .

I rarely check mine. Maybe once every 2 months or longer. If it wasn't urgent enough that you couldn't text it, it can't be that important.
