Wonder what the Iron Man dudes' script was like for Paramount to move along to these guys?

Isn't this like the third or fourth writer they've gone through since the movie's announcement? I wonder what it is they want they can't seem to get.

At this point I'm not even sure if there's going to be a movie.

Franchise films go through multiple writers and drafts all the time. This is nothing new. I'm more worried about the direction the studio will take as opposed to how many scripts are written. Ever since I found out Nick was putting out TMNT, I've been worried that it's going to be nothing but fart jokes and crappy animation.

While multiple teams of screenwriters are nothing new in franchise films and certainly not even something new to TMNT (part 4 went through about 10 different teams of screenwriters)... I think we can officially consider TMNT Part 5 in "development hell."

What they've written in the past might be an indicator of what they're capable of, but in a studio-driven film like TMNT Part 5 it's far more a question of what are they going to be asked to write. And at this point in a couple months the odds are you're just going to hear about another duo or trio of writers coming aboard anyway.

Someone should just give these guys the City at War 13-issue comics and tell them to make a movie out of that.
Have it be a loose adaption, with Shredder coming back from the grave or never killed in the first place, and leave it at that. |

Exactly what I've been wanting for a while. General audience will need the Shredder for the first film, in one form or another, but a lot of us are a little worn out on the dude. Just let his presence run through the film and give us a flashback or two that presents an intimidating and mysterious Shredder being defeated. Let the tmnt move on from Shredder with the following film. An adaption of "The River" for the sequel, would be ideal, but I'm probably fooling myself now haha.

I don't think it's part 5 I'm pretty sure it's a reboot.

I hope it's neither. Do we really need the Turtles origin...again?
