Star Wars Episode 7
Hmm... surprised there's no thread for this already (and yes I looked) but anyways. Disney purchased Lucasfilm and in 2015 we're getting Episode 7 which is (now officially) to be directed by JJ Abrams.
From what I undersand several member of the cast of episodes 4 - 6 have already signed up for this. http://comicbook.com/blog/2013/01/26...-vii-director/

Here is the official StarWars.com article
http://starwars.com/news/star-wars-i...isode-vii.html I'd love to know details about returning cast members... I thought it was all just rumors so far. Anyone spotted Hamill or Carrie Fisher at the gym lately? |

Let me guess those cast members that immediately signed up...
Anthony Daniels, Anthony Daniels and Anthony Daniels. I'm also sure Billy Dee isn't up to a whole hell of a lot. |

I think JJ Abrams is perfect for this. Though I'm not the biggest Star Wars fan.
Just imagine how money money this movie could make if the got Hamill, Fisher and Ford back. My g'ness...

i wouldn't mind if Luke showed up as a Force ghost, like in the Legacy comics. but Han and Leia...no.

Carrie signed up a couple months ago. http://www.worstpreviews.com/headline.php?id=26692 As for Billy Dee. When asked if he was interested his response was basically "Meh..."

Abrams is probably a good choice to direct a Star Wars movie.
After all, he's already remade the original film.

So I am a HUGE Star Wars fan, TMNT and SW are the two franchises that I cant get enough of. So the news of the selling of Lucasarts/film and the upcoming new films hit me like a ton of bricks.
I immediately had so many questions, when does it take place, returning cast members, EU based or new story? Ive been reading the Expanded Universe novels since the mid 90s so i thought the Thrawn Trilogy was a natural fit for the next 3 movies (I personally think that trillogy is the best star wars tale outside of the original trilogy). But no, I hear now that it is going to be a completely original story based sometime after ep VI. I like the idea mentioned above about luke returning as a force ghost, but all of the original actors have changed so much that i dont know how well they can incorporate them. I do not want another Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skullf***ers, especially if we're getting more than one. And what happens to the EU now? Are they gonna cram another storyline in there or are they "rewriting" the universe? Ok, im getting way ahead of myself... I really dont know what to hope for, let alone what to expect, so until i start seeing some previews im going to sit back and not worry about it. |

Also, Anthony Daniels will be in this movie. Come on. Dude played 3P0 in Droids. He's not above making a paycheck. |

Han Solo prequel? Harrison Ford or bust.
And no one wants to see a Yoda movie. |

Yeah, big Star Wars fans would go see it. And I'd go see a Master Splinter solo movie. But neither one of them would make money. I guess a Yoda movie would stand a shot, but I don't see it.
