Throughout the entirety of the Star Wars saga, it's like the City Planet that never changes despite being ruled by the Republic or the Empire! Seeing it run-down and deteriorating like old Detroit would be a remarkable statement about Galactic affairs!

Yeah, I wanted to see Coruscant. Not even a mention. Doubtless because of Kennedy and the "absolutely no prequel stuff!" edict.

Coruscant was so scant in the Sequel Trilogy that there were times I wondered "Did that planet get blown up in Force Awakens?" Which begs the question... "Why didn't the First Order Blow Up Coruscant?" since I would think that planet would have been the biggest stronghold of the "New Republic" or whatever Leia and crew were calling their little post-Empire club.

But Coruscant isn't even a prequel thing. It was created for Heir to the Empire and the first film it appeared in was the special edition of Return of the Jedi.

More like because of the all memes surrounding PT rather than acknowledging of it directly.

Over the weekend, the film crossed the $500 million mark in North America. While the film's box office total has fallen short of its predecessors, the movie is still a big hit.

I went to see it yesterday, I lost enthusiasm mostly due to the last one but I saw the last two so why not, also people seem to like this one more.
As with watching the last one, there is that sadness with Carrie being gone, given what they had to work with I think they did quite well with her. It was sad seeing her character die. It was nice seeing Billy Dee Williams, there is that bitter sweet with the other characters being gone and that they didn't cross paths but still cool that they included him. I like to think that was always the plan and he wasn't brought in as an after thought but I don't if that was the case or not. I guess with both sequels you sit wondering how much was always planned with the changes in director etc. I was surprised to find I liked Rey a little more in this movie than I did in the last. The Emperor was like something from a horror movie For a good part I like that they went back to him, the all powerful throughout, but it was also the battle from ROJ again (coming full circle or whatever) To a point it feels like it took away the previous victory but I guess they did still kill him (or I at least think I remember him say they did) and put a dent in his dominance for an amount of time … so there's that. Kathleen Kennedy not worried about making good Star Wars movies, only concerned about making sure there's a female Star Wars movie director just because:

I love how modern Hollywood blatantly exposes that it's perfectly acceptable to be sexist/racist/whatever-ist, as long as you're on The Right Side of History.
I mean, the more they focus on "inclusion and diversity", the worse the movies have gotten. Maybe just focus on NOT sh*tting the bed with your terrible f*cking movies and let the rest work itself out? It only worked for I'unno how many decades before we got to the here and now. Stop making the wrong things a priority.

I'd ask another question: when Lucafilm will make another good Star Wars movie, not smeared with internal politics and ideologies of its glorious leaders?

He had a lucky shot in the trenches, and he did alright at Jabba's Palace, but after that not so much. He's whiny throughout the trilogy, he gets strung up by a hair-monster & hangs then lays in the snow crying for his "daddy", gets his hand cut-off and gives up for suicide after it, and repeatedly tells the Galactic Bad Guy that he won't fight him. I'd still take Luke over Rey. Unless Rey wanted to get busy, then... definitely Rey. Also, leave it to Screen Rant to write shill articles for clicks. No 9 is "Luke's Optimism"? Optimism? He's a pessimist through the entire series! LOL! I think there's one scene while loading R2 into an X-Wing where he says something optimistic! Everything else is self-doubt, loathing and giving up until someone nudges him along! |
