Why would you want to violate your mind so much?

Lots of concept arts for Trevorrow version of Episode 9.

I like it for the Coruscant concepts alone!

Throughout the entirety of the Star Wars saga, it's like the City Planet that never changes despite being ruled by the Republic or the Empire! Seeing it run-down and deteriorating like old Detroit would be a remarkable statement about Galactic affairs!

Yeah, I wanted to see Coruscant. Not even a mention. Doubtless because of Kennedy and the "absolutely no prequel stuff!" edict.

Coruscant was so scant in the Sequel Trilogy that there were times I wondered "Did that planet get blown up in Force Awakens?" Which begs the question... "Why didn't the First Order Blow Up Coruscant?" since I would think that planet would have been the biggest stronghold of the "New Republic" or whatever Leia and crew were calling their little post-Empire club.

But Coruscant isn't even a prequel thing. It was created for Heir to the Empire and the first film it appeared in was the special edition of Return of the Jedi.

This movie literally lifts a line directly from Episode III...

More like because of the all memes surrounding PT rather than acknowledging of it directly.

Over the weekend, the film crossed the $500 million mark in North America. While the film's box office total has fallen short of its predecessors, the movie is still a big hit.

I went to see it yesterday, I lost enthusiasm mostly due to the last one but I saw the last two so why not, also people seem to like this one more.
As with watching the last one, there is that sadness with Carrie being gone, given what they had to work with I think they did quite well with her. It was sad seeing her character die.

It was nice seeing Billy Dee Williams, there is that bitter sweet with the other characters being gone and that they didn't cross paths but still cool that they included him. I like to think that was always the plan and he wasn't brought in as an after thought but I don't if that was the case or not. I guess with both sequels you sit wondering how much was always planned with the changes in director etc.

I was surprised to find I liked Rey a little more in this movie than I did in the last.

The Emperor was like something from a horror movie For a good part I like that they went back to him, the all powerful throughout, but it was also the battle from ROJ again (coming full circle or whatever) To a point it feels like it took away the previous victory but I guess they did still kill him (or I at least think I remember him say they did) and put a dent in his dominance for an amount of time … so there's that.

Right now it is obvious they didn't pay shill and influencers to save the movie from being ripped apart by critics and fans. And it seems there is no push back to call people who don't like this movie "bigots, racists and sexists". At least not yet.

IMO, it means Disney knew it will be a failure and decided to sacrifice Episode 9, which means Kennedy would be ousted quite soon (which is a good thing, because, making **** from the biggest media franchise in the world is a rare talent). I don't think Disney will kick her out, because, it won't look "progressive", but she certainly won't be able to make any decisions from now on.

Also, it most likely mean that JJ and Cryman Johnson won't be allowed anywhere near Star Wars. Which is also a good thing. I'd hope JJ will suffer a major setback in his carrier, but given that pretty much everyone knew TROS will be a failure I think it won't impact him very much. Like, in this case he was just a driver who attempted to guide truck to the collision as careful as possible.

On a separate note, JJ now is a unique director who had a rare opportunity to take part in tanking two massive space franchises: Star Trek and Star Wars. To complete the trinity he should be assigned to the remake of the StarGate!
Just joking.
I wish you were correct about her making decisions would have stopped right here and now, but she was the one that put the hold on the Obi Wan show, and part of me is wondering if she is doing this on purpose to show those who hate her that she still has the ultimate power. But then again, the Hawkeye show too is on hold, so maybe it's someone from Disney that is even higher up. Bob Iger perhaps?

I never did like the story about Palpatine being involved with creating any child. With that aside, I still think they should have made Rey a distant relative to Obi Wan (maybe a niece or cousin) that way she is her own thing while still having a connection to the Skywalkers.

Kathleen Kennedy not worried about making good Star Wars movies, only concerned about making sure there's a female Star Wars movie director just because:

And yet, there would be no Star Wars and she would have no prestigious job if it weren't for men. When I see a woman completely create an entire world, and produce it and direct herself, then I will applaud. But taking something that has an already built in fan base, mostly thanks to men, isn't exactly something to scream home about.

I love how modern Hollywood blatantly exposes that it's perfectly acceptable to be sexist/racist/whatever-ist, as long as you're on The Right Side of History.

I mean, the more they focus on "inclusion and diversity", the worse the movies have gotten. Maybe just focus on NOT sh*tting the bed with your terrible f*cking movies and let the rest work itself out? It only worked for I'unno how many decades before we got to the here and now.

Stop making the wrong things a priority.

I'd ask another question: when Lucafilm will make another good Star Wars movie, not smeared with internal politics and ideologies of its glorious leaders?

My buddy who is a big Star Wars guy and I have had a decades long running joke about how Luke is actually basically a little whiny, bitch. And he's actually shown as such in the movies more often than he is heroic at all.

He had a lucky shot in the trenches, and he did alright at Jabba's Palace, but after that not so much. He's whiny throughout the trilogy, he gets strung up by a hair-monster & hangs then lays in the snow crying for his "daddy", gets his hand cut-off and gives up for suicide after it, and repeatedly tells the Galactic Bad Guy that he won't fight him.

I'd still take Luke over Rey. Unless Rey wanted to get busy, then... definitely Rey.

Also, leave it to Screen Rant to write shill articles for clicks. No 9 is "Luke's Optimism"? Optimism? He's a pessimist through the entire series! LOL! I think there's one scene while loading R2 into an X-Wing where he says something optimistic! Everything else is self-doubt, loathing and giving up until someone nudges him along!
