How do you feel about youtube prank videos?

As many of you might have noticed, youtube seems to have gotten full of prank videos in the last couple of years or so. Usually involving a guy or two in their 20s asking strangers odd questions or even saying/doing offensive stuff to them to gather their reaction. Lots of times it goes badly. Atlhough, apparently lots of them are fake.

Eh, I think there's no need for tons of them. And in some of them, the pranksters are quite rude. As in harassing people and even touching them. Why would anyone risk getting punched just to post a vide on youtube? People...

Thoughts?

I love some of the ones by the guy who does the fast food drive thru panks, such as the skeleton driver and the driverless car. And there is that other with the snowman costume that look like a (somewhat suspicious looking) decoration until it moves. I like some of that kind of stuff.

People who are just acting rude or stupid for a reaction is not appealing. I haven't watched any like that, but it sounds too obnoxious and prob would have lost any appeal to me twenty years ago, if it ever had any at all. Prefer clever stuff, not just acting up for attention.

It really depends, some are good and you can tell they made precaution not to cause physical harm. But a lot of them are just jackwagons that imitates something they've seen before.

Those prank videos set in the ghetto are probably fake. But I guess some people would be dumb enough to pull outrageous stuff in a dangerous area.

Doesn't matter where you are, pull some **** on the wrong person and you'll be sorry. You never know who has martial arts training, a deadly weapon, or just a bad temper. Or all three.

Well yeah, but they seem to like to approach people who are more likely to act violently. That or they don't upload the non violent reactions they get.

People who act violent because of a question or comment are idiots, but if your prank consists of touching someone, "stealing" something from them, etc. you shouldn't be surprised that person might hit you.

I think a lot of them are bogus. You have to ask yourself, how did they capture this stuff on video so clearly without giving the game away?
