Why January 1st? Isn't the final hurdle the EU regulators vote on October 19? Is there some other hoop after that as well?

I still say, final credits scene in Avengers 4... deep space. SWOOSH! The Silver Surfer flies by the camera. "WOW!" Audiences applaud. The camera slowly tilts down and we see Galactus coming into frame and getting closer, the remains of a desiccated planet behind him. "HOLY SH**!!!" Then cut to Professor X in Cerebro, taking off the helmet. "Galactus," he says. Then shouts behind him, "Jean, I think it's time we finally contact the Avengers."

BAM. Audiences would lose their minds.

C'mon, that too much!!
We want to make an audience happy, not to commit mass murder via fangasms!!

Some restructional things going on to accommodate the acquisition:

https://www.thewaltdisneycompany.com...acquisition-2/

Also, the vote that was scheduled for today has been bumped to November 11:

Definitely seems like full steam ahead, though.

Oh. Looks like the vote actually already went down 6 days ago:

https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/ne...itions-1148195

Full clearance from the EU with minor conditions that Disney has already agreed to. As best as I can tell, this was the very last hurdle. There is literally nothing that could emerge that can stop it now.

Disney is going to keep the Fox name/brand alive even after the sale is complete.

https://www.comicbookmovie.com/disne...closes-a167006

So, say, new R-rated Alien or Predator or Deadpool or whatever movies could keep coming out under the Fox name/brand.

The effects of this most likely won’t be felt until a year and a half from now. Still, I’m shocked this was allowed to happen. F*ck you, Disney. You’re turning me into a commie.

The full effects. But we can absolutely see little stuff before that... i.e., some pretty freaking cool after the credits bits!

Are you hinting at something I don’t know? I’m pretty sure they wouldn’t have filmed anything using F4/X-Men characters until the deal was 100% confirmed. I’m hoping that something is shown during the credits of Endgame, but I doubt it. It’s entirely possible Endgame won’t have an end-credits scene just to put a bookend on the first 10 years.

They can easily shoot something teasery real fast and quick, even now. Think, something short and sweet with Galactus, or mutant-related.

The reason I don't think we'll see anything Fox-related, is that it seems too rushed and reactionary.

It seems like something Sony or Fox would have done ten years ago. "Quick, FANS want X-Men. OKAY, OKAY, WE HAVE THE X-MEN! QUICK THROW THEM IN THE END CREDIT SCENE AND WE'LL FIGURE IT OUT LATER!"

Marvel didn't know for sure that the deal would close in time for Endgame, is my understanding.

Just doesn't seem like the MCU's style to me. That's not to say I wouldn't love to see it. And of course, it could still happen. But that's my thinking as to why I would not bet on it.

It's like the Thanos end credits scene in Avengers 1. At that point they had no idea what they were going to do with Thanos other than they knew he would be the big bad... eventually. They didn't even have him cast yet.

Could totally see something similar happen in Endgame's end credits.

I agree, this is terrible and should not have been allowed. Really like what the hell are these idiots thinking allowing such a merger?????? Competition breeds greatness. Why or how do you think we got the MCU to begin with people??? It was bc Marvel were going against A list heroes using B or C list heroes and had to up anti.
