My immediate boss is white, and she totally rocks some true red streaks. On top of dyed black, even. Looks really cool, and I've had a couple of other coworkers who did colored streaks, too. Actually, it seems fairly common around here. Like a mini-trend or something.

This is actually one I take a small amount of umbrage with myself. Though I don't think it comes from an intentionally bad place.

I would, but I don't care about those, either. It's a stupid, media driven discussion that we all lose our minds over. And who wins in the end?

Does anyone give a damn if Santa Claus is black? Or if we call them gingerbread people? What are they going to do if I say "yo, give me one of those gingerbread men"? Arrest me?

No exaggeration, the ONLY people I heard talk about "It's Cold Outside" was the news. That's it. No one else gives a ****. We have jobs and bills and families.

I've had farts that shaped society more than half the nonsense that's brought up anymore. It's like freaking out when they botch some animation on the old Dick Wolf cartoon. "Hey! Why does Donnie sound different today? Better call the local news station and raise the appropriate level of concern, which is naturally, too much."

I'm not too sure if you're trolling on this one, but yeah, there are people out there that legit give a damn if you're going to say "gingerbread men". You may not get arrested, but if you aren't calling something by the pronoun it was deemed to have by the majority, there will be an uproar.

You know that there are people out there who seriously can rise a ginormous stink about such things? Like calling "manholes" is offensive to them and stuff?

Social Media Era is pretty ****** in regard that any brain damaged lunatic can speak their opinion on the matter without a filter and himself followers.
Coupled with ultimate cynicism born of misreading of post-modernism and infantilism of the Western society, born out of having too much free time and a "protest" against corporations, which is tied to post-modern and socialist values, it leads to the results like "flat-earthers" and other less than reasonable groups, showing up and exercising an influence on general populace.

Social media and fast exchange of information led to the people seeking immediate gratification, thus spreading "culture" of sensationalist headlines and outrages.

TL;DR
People have too much free time and a means to show their inner stupidity to the rest of the world.
