Haven't seen a lot of pics of these sets. I was going to wait for some kind of promotions from TRU before getting these but I just kept thinking about building these black and white sets which is quite different from the colourful Lego sets. End up geting both sets.
The individual Turtles sets are also out in Canada Toys R Us as well. Too bad I couldn't find Donatello.

I have to say, there are quite a few nods to the original comics. Each set also include a mini comic book accessory. It's only 1 page with the cover and a full page art on the back.

Also realize how tiny the comic Shredder (and the OT Shredder,becoz it's the same mold ) is next to the Nick toon ver.

THe bill board section can be combined with the Second time antiques set

I'm extremely grateful for the detail that your photos have offered. May I please ask for even more focus on the mini Mirage Issue #1 'comic book' accessory?
I would really appreciate more photos (in the event there are differences between each book, please specify which comic was from which set). Basically, shots of the books' interior and back would be superb.
It's an inspired touch of MEGA meta, and I'd love to see more

The sets look so much better like that. It sucks that they reused the Shredder mold because he's freaking shirtless now. That comic book accessory is just awesome.

Ugh... balancing on the idea of buying a set from ebay for a ludicrous price... but... I suppose I can wait until mid August *sigh*

Toys R us told me that they had no further information on when to expect them in again, but I'm guessing where they are in such high demand they probably don't want to give out any dates at this point.

Man, seeing those photos (thanks for sharing) is making me want to get a 2nd Street Showdown set to build in reverse just so I can have the full Rooftop Combat set on top. It looks so good that way.
