We are having something similar here, but it is due to algea in the water of lakes and rivers. They are telling pet owners to keep their dogs away from the water. Maybe Norway is experiencing the same thing?

Was just pointing out a similar problem. Here they are dying within a few hours of ingesting contaminated water, even from just swimming or playing in it. By the time the owners know there is a problem, it is basically too late. Serious problem, to the point that the news has warned people to avoid taking pets to lakes or rivers, ponds, etc in the affected areas. It's tragic, because these are healthy, active pets dying from simply cooling off from the heat.

Hmm, you know, the illness that killed all the pets in the original Planet of the Apes movies comes to mind. Dogs and cats and even some others dropping like flies, until humans began keeping apes as pets because they were immune, and semi-intelligent.

And so it begins.....
