Shall Seymour's Suffering Cease?
In the upcoming TMNT Universe #23-24, get in on the ground floor and place your bets...
Will Seymour Gutz, the tragic Mutagen Man, be allowed to pass from this mortal coil? Or will his endless purgatory of existence continue unchecked?

I'll vote yes, because for once in my life, why not try optimism?

There is a high probability he will die. Seeing how hell is a thing though, I'm not sure it'll be the end of his suffering.

Yes. Let him die, it's what he wants. Afford him the dignity in the death that has been denied in life.

I genuinely have no idea how this will turn out. On the one hand, his death could serve as an interesting vehicle to explore the rest of the Mutanimals and how they're dealing with their first real loss. On the other, maybe they could save him only for him to kill himself anyways, or turn against them, maybe joining Leatherhead on his quest of self loathing and mutant hunting. Or they could actually save him free and clear and have everything work out, but I kinda hope it's not that one. It's like, I don't want him to die, but him surviving this unscathed would be a detriment to the narrative. Actually, now that I think about it, I kind of hope that they save him, only for him to hate them for it, abandon them, and join up with Leatherhead, who's in a similar situation. Then you've got this situation where the Mutanimals have to go up against one of their own. That could actually be a really interesting storyline.

It's pretty much his thing. But, I'm not counting on it happening in TMNTU. Mondo and Mike are just going to keep disrespecting his pain and putting their feelings ahead of Seymour's comfort. (That and he'd be much easier to allow passage into Valhalla than say, Slash, who may also get some serious suicidal tenancies if he's saved) I don't think that he'd join Leatherhead. More "Oh look, jaws of death!" Man, if we thought Krang was an easy snatch...

A suicidal Mutagen Man paired up with a Leatherhead who refuses to kill him despite MM's best attempts at triggering him would be fun!

I mean... Leatherhead is convinced that mutants are abominations that shouldn't exist. If the unnatural perversion of science aspect doesn't make him want to kill him, the insatiable pain will.

He's also highly unstable. He could become conviced somehow (I'm not a/the writer) that MM shouldn't die by his hand, no matter how much Seymour begs him and tries to make him mad enough. Stranger twists have happened.

Yeah, LH would probably do it if asked. It lets him accomplish a part of his goal - and includes that said mutant would be willing.
It makes me think of Scar killing Nina in Full Metal Alchemist.

Poor guy's been in such a bad way so long that I wish he could get a legitimately happy ending, IE no suffering, but also not dying.
But that looks so unlikely.

I want to see him be more of a rogue like he was in the 2012 show, but have the shape-shifting ability he had in the 1987 show. If he could impersonate characters like Bishop or Kitsune, this might be a cocktail for something interesting.

Man, you HAD to bring that up! I still consider her fate to be one of the most disturbing, depressing, and tragic ends in anime history. And the worst of it was that her own father did that to her, and she was too young/innocent to understand what happened. As much as I diliked Scar, that was probably his only redeeming moment ever. And I still hated that he did it, but..... What else was there TO do?

It's the best comparison I can make. I had quite the bitter sting writing that .
(Though, comparing Leatherhead to Scar makes quite a bit of sense at this point)

I hope Donnie or the Utroms will be able to help him out by making a better suit and he'll get a happy ending. He's really sweet and deserves happiness.
