Randomly spotted a couple copies of the cute "My Secret Ninja Journal" book at a grocery store. Marked for $4 each, ended up being $2. (Bought both, one to collect and the other for my nephew when he's older.)
8/11 - A little canned pumpkin (not pie filling) mixed with tuna for a couple of days for one of the cats seems to have done the trick. Last edited by IndigoErth; 08-11-2018 at 10:54 AM. |

Had a nice little surprise yesterday evening. An older couple who are friends and fellow church members of my grandmother stopped by our apartment for a visit. They were on their way home from a trip to San Antonio, and decided to drop by for a bit. Was good to see them, as they were always some of the nicest people there, and were at our wedding. So we got to catch up a bit, which was a treat.

One of my latest foster kittens got adopted only after spending one night in the center!
And the remaining one has good manners and isn't interested in people food!

Knowing that it still gets some love makes me happy. That song is just plain fun to listen to.

When in some MMO game you get hit by some boss that leaves your health at one point -- ONE -- and with some quick thinking and good timing you end up winning. Kind love those moments in these games.

So, a thing that happened today- we had our own version of the "Mississippi Squirrel Revival" right in our own apartment. I kid you not. (And for the young-uns who don't know what that is, just Google it. It's a song by Ray Stevens, if that helps....) Cinnamon somehow got hold of a squirrel, and had chased it onto the neighbor's patio. She caught it again, and while they were tusseling, Mr D and I managed to distract her so it could escape. Except that it ran straight toward our end of the patio and right into our open door. Where it proceeded to make a bee-line for the back of the apartment, where the bedroom is.
Thank the gods above we keep the bedroom door closed! The same cannot be said for the bathroom door, however. It ran right in. Whereupon I shut the door to trap it so I could catch it. Fortunately, I had been cleaning out the closets today, and had just put away our cat carrier, so I had Mr D grab it for me, and then cracked open the door enough to insert the open carrier. No squirrel. I couldn't see it, so I carefully slipped in and shut the door behind me so it couldn't escape, then just moved the carrier farther until I found the sqirrel. It was between the toilet and tub, so I blocked off that side of the toilet, the put the open carrier in between the toilet and counter on the other. Shooing him/her into the carrier proved relatively easy, so I shut the carrier and tilted it so my captive could not get out ( didn't have it latched, so it would be easier to let him out) and then carried him down to the far end of the property where there are several trees. He took off as soon as I pulled the blanket out of tge carrier and tipped it on it's end. Thus ended our squirrel adventure, but I gotta say, that was more excitement that I expected for a Sunday afternoon!

I guess you've been gone long enough that I can ask what you did.

Ahh that's cool! Nice to see you around again. I guess in that situation, I should have been able to recognize you.

Coming home to a VERY affectionate "purrbox". Been missing that. We finally brought her home from the vet yesterday afternoon, and she has hardly left my side the entire time I've been home since then. She even slept on my work clothes right next to the bed last night, and came right up wanting to be held when I came home from work a little while ago. Guess she really missed me, lol!
