Superhero Soundtracks Overload At Comic-Con
I don't know if anyone here cares about film scores - especially scores to cartoons and the like - but for those of you who do...
Record label La-La Land will be having a DC Comics bash next week at Comic-con with seven releases of television/film music. Continuing their partnership with Blake Neely, the label is releasing soundtracks to SUPERGIRL and the second season of THE FLASH. In their final installment for the series, the label is releasing Volume 4 of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES, concluding their coverage of the show's intial 65-episode run. The release also features tidbits from other episodes that were overlooked (source cues, alternate takes, etc.) They have shown great care to the work of Shirley Walker and her protégés and this will be yet another high-quality release. Speaking of Walker's protégés... Kristopher Carter, Michael McCuistion, and Lolita Ritmanis scored the upcoming KILLING JOKE film, and their music will see release as well. But that's not all you'll hear from them! After years and years, the trio's scores to the iconic JUSTICE LEAGUE series will finally see some light shed on them in a 4-disc set packed to the brim with cues from a wide range of episodes. This is the one I'm most excited for!!! Finally, the label is producing a couple special vinyl releases for the main titles to STAR TREK and WONDER WOMAN. I'm super excited for all these releases... anyone else? The releases will be available online on the 26th. |
