Just wanted to mention on the link I provided, the Thomas Gray interview talks about Peter Laird's involvement. He says the Peter basically wrote the movie with Kevin. He changed dialouge, action, etc. So that's another reason why the film, regardless of how much money it makes and whatnot, will be a solid film. Because it will finally be THE TMNT movie that I'm sure Peter and Eastman always wanted. Gray also mentions that the film, no matter who it's targeted for, was written for the alumni (I love how that sounds).

I don't, because I don't know what the word alumni means. I also don't like that it's targeted for all ages, but I'm used to that one.

Let me just clarify that fact for you Shark. Gray didn't say that the film was targeted for all ages. I'm not sure who he said it was targeted for but he did claim (and this is probably where I shouldn't have said alumni) that the film was written for people who have loved the TMNT from the beginning, meaning everyone who read the comics and saw the first film and are now old enough to appreciate a darker, more in-depth film version. By all means, I'm not trying to be offensive to the fans of the old series and even the new series but I'm just trying to interpret what Gray meant. If someone could perhaps explain this in better terms, be my guest.

No you've pretty much summed it up nicely.

I love the Gary interview. It's really nice to hear someone who worked on the original films actually talk about them! He actually has the balls to say "this is what we did wrong" when he talked about the sequals. It was also interesting for the John Woo thing being brought up. As far as the new film goes, he really doesnt give us anything new, but it really is better interview of the two, IMO

Gray, in response to the studio's recommendation to target the least common fan denominator:

"We told them, 'we're not making Pokemon'."

Gatchaman is one of the inspirations for Power Rangers, along with Ultraman and Voltron.
