I admit, if Mirage Shredder came back from the dead sporting that... I wouldn't be mortified. There's no way that cape isn't getting caught on his shin blades, though, like every 3 seconds. And I'd like to see dual rows of blades on the forearms, at least.

That's exactly why I don't think its for a new show. It might be a one-off special like Half-shell heroes at most.

Likewise why would they have a new Shredder design shown for a new show but not the Turtles? If we saw both new Turtle designs and Shredder design it being for a new series would be more plausible.

Would be awesome if it was hints of a new show to come, but not getting my hopes up... Seems awful early for a company to start dropping hints though. But will be curious to see what this turns out to be, if anything.

Would so love a new series that was a lot like 2003 since I never saw that one on tv.

That "Dark Shredder" design looks interesting. Wonder what it could be for. I'm game for a new show, provided it's better than the current one.

I think the thread title is misleading, it should be edited to reflect that we have no idea what this is for. As far as we know there's no new show in development.

Kinda digging the Oni mask Shredder has. If they didn't want to go that route then just do what they normally do or like IDW (pulls up rest of his cover)

The "Dark" bit just screams to me he'll suffer a redesign on the 5th Season and this is nothing more then concept art for that (they don't always use the same style it ends up with on the final product), probably a Demon like possesion or something like that.

I mean, I would love for a new show to be hinted at so earlier but I'm not really feeling it from this.

The fact that they're calling Nick Shredder, "core Shredder" tells me that this is either a generic design for random merch, or for some type of short/one-shot.

Ok, after going through that page I changed my mind, those are clearly made for merchandise, so they wouldn't use a different style then the one used on the show, it just defeats the purpose, so this is for something new, but I don't think it's for some kind of offshot, it has to be for something bigger if you're going to sell it, you don't see merch done for those offshots from last year now do you? So this must be for anything really, a new show, a new special, a new comic, or simply put, a merch line with it's own style aimed at an older audience with a more mature take on the characters (banking in on this last one BTW)

Season 5 won't even finish airing on TV till 2018. There's no way they're putting out merch now for a new show that wouldn't theoretically air for 2019 or later.

It's either a one-off special like Half-Shell heroes or just merch art.

It's cool looking but I'm not sure i'd love it for a Shredder in a new show having that mouthpiece all the time. On the other hand Nick having a brand new TMNT show as soon as the CG show ends would be amazing, especially if it were 2D. It would almost take away the bad feeling that cancelling the 2012 show early is going to give us. is it really impossible for it to get a sixth season? I hope there's still a chance for a sixth season even if not likely.

You don't know if they're putting that out now, that can be for an inside study, not supposed to be out in public yet, besides, it's not unheard of 2 series of the same franchise airing simultanious, and for all we know they may even air all of Season 5 back to back, to get it out faster and leave the second part of the year open for a new show, 6 months is enough to air all 20 episodes, even less if they air 2 each week just to get it done.

For what it's worth though, I really don't think it's for a new show neither, but the possibility is out there.
