Thunderbirds Are Go!-New Series In 2015

ITV are joining forces with Weta Worskshop (Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit) to produce a new 26-part Thunderbirds television series. Leading the writing will be Rob Hoege and will be a mix of CGI and live-action (no strings attached this time folks)

The new series will air on ITV and CITV (meaning it'll likely be on during weekend mornings where both channels share a simo-cast) in 2015.

Thunderbirds Are Go reaches our screens early next year, mixing CGI and live action model sets, with former Bond girl Rosamund Pike voicing Lady Penelope and original cast member David Graham reprising the role of Parker. Yush, m’lady!

At least I can say the new show looks as unappealing to me as the original was. My dad loved the original show though.

I thought the main appeal of the show was the puppetry but with that gone it's just another CG show among dozens. They really should've taken a chance at being different and gone with puppetry, it was a risk but could've paid off but now it's not doing anything different.

I just watched Thunderbirds. I thought it was good. I didn't think the CGI was that good at first but I got used to it.

I thought Lady P looked strange. I didn't realise that Parker's voice actor is the original voice actor.

Brains sounded wierd.

Spoiler:
So they killed off Jeff Tracey, I bet that was risky but it worked well with boys all alone but I couldn't tell who was in charge was it Scott or Virgil. Koya is TinTin (from the original show) renamed, her uncle is the Hood and she now flying the new Thunderbird S (Shawdow)

The show is going to continue on ITV/CITV every Saturday at 8am now. It's also renewed for season 2 too.

That was great overall.

Spoiler:
Plenty of great spots and tight rescue sequences. It did a good job also of laying out every nuance of the characters, right down to Parker's shady traits when identifying the quaker technology

The suit-ups remind me a bit of a sequence in Batman Forever.

Had to laugh at Alan using Thunderbird 3 to correct faults with a satellite, just so John could watch Stingray reruns.

Will be interesting to see the Kayo plot followed up on, especially with how much Jeff knew and with Grandma being the confidant for her.

Interesting decision to have International Rescue being more formally known to Global Defense rather than being freelances who swore everyone to secrecy just to give them a landing permit.

Just caught "Space Race". Mainly focused on Alan and John, with Scott making a fleeting cameo and Virgil not showing up at all (was it him that was screaming off-screen?)

While out clearing space debris, Alan sets off an armed orbital nuke that continuously attempts to latch on to various ships and detonate. Alan has to keep it focused on T3 until the kill code can be found and used.

Penelope and Parker breaking into the London archives to acquire the kill code was the light-hearted portion of the story, and it's resolved with, of all things, allowing the administrator (a fan of Penelope) to take photos with her dog!

"Grey Ninja" Parker has pretty phenomenal strength for his age, managing to pry open the doors to a lift.
