He's the 2nd actor to play 2 Marvel characters, Chris Evans with Johnny Storm Fantastic Four 1 and 2, and then Captain America.

I like this casting.

I don't know how many of the other rumors were true, but it seems like they really were close to signing Shannon. My guess is that the writers have a handful of jokes regarding Cable's actor playing a super villain in another universe and they were probably picking from a specific pool based on that.

Correction- he is the THIRD. Ryan Renolds has also played two Marvel characters- Deapool and Hannibal King in the Blade trilogy.

Still, I really wanted the Pierce Brosnan thing to be true. I was imagining his head and face, but his body like being this mo-capped performance onto a CGI giant-muscled and cybernetic body, just like the Liefeld comics. And it being ridiculously hilarious, with Brosnan selling it.

LOL there's a reason my screen name is what it is! Used to come in the top five weekly on the Marvel forums trivia comps. I want to say that technially Stan Lee has played two (or more) as well- Willy Lumpkin the mailman in FF, Hugh Hefner, and Himself (in a nod to a few alt-universe appearances in both the comics and at least one Marvel cartoon series).

Speak not of that foul abomination! That was NOT Johnny Storm that was an imposter. Wasn't even Victor Von Doom. Or any of them, really. They were the FF in name ONLY. Those hacks who wrote and directed it obviously never read any of the comics.
