Christmas Carol 3D - While I expected as much and it took a second to translate all the dialogue in my head, it sure would have helped if they spoke clearly the whole time. Other than that, it was good. It was certainly a very dignified interpretation.

Ninja Assassin. It's sh*t. I'm pretty sure the creative development never went beyond "Ninjas are cool, let's make a movie about ninjas," since the movie was dull and uninspired. The fact that this "Rain" person has the charisma (and acting ability) of a walnut didn't help matters.

Also, CGI blood? Seriously? That seems like it would just be more work than traditional effects, and it looked f*cking lame.

Mao's Last Dancer

I cried happy tears at the end. It's not often that happens with me. Seriously. Grinning like a loon with my eyes watering. The last movie that got me to do that was... god, I don't know... so damn long ago. Beautiful set design and costumes while the dancers are preforming as well.

Finally managed to watch it after... two years? I started watching it half an hour in, which sucks, but oh well. It was still fun to watch. Loved Ego as well. As much as I loved all the other characters, something just clicked with me when I saw him stalk about. Hopefully the next time I see it I'll see more of him...
