That seems like an awfully specious argument, unless Dick's Sporting Goods and/or Walmart are the only arms dealers in Oregon, which...I'm doubting they are, and if they're not then it's going to be hard to prove that this internal rule presents a hardship that this kid as suffered damages from.

But I'm no lawyer, so who knows.
Maybe this snowflake really is triggered that he has to wait a whole year before he can shop at the big boxes responsible for killing his local mom-and-pop weapons mongers.

Be extra curious if both big box stores use "deeply held philosophical beliefs" to bolster their claim.

But how, again, is this much different than the cake thing? I'm sure there were other bakers the gay couple could have gone to, but they successfully sued that guy despite his "beliefs."

It's not. Somebody looking to make bank and get their TV interview of fame. All with the backdrop of real issues.

It is different.
The couple filed a complaint against the cake place.
The cake place then doxxed the couple of facebook.

That's when things went legal.

Scared people buy more guns. It's better for their bottom line for people to be scared.

Except, technically, that isn't either... I refer you (like I have so many people over the years) to the judge notes from the ruling on District of Columbia v. Heller in 2008 that ratified that it mean an individual had the right to bear arms...

Quote:
The precise meaning of the Second Amendment — "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the People to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed" — has long been a subject for debate. In a decision nearly 70 years ago, the justices suggested it was a collective right, not an individual right to bear arms. This is the first time the court has defined the amendment so definitively.

The two sides in this case viewed the Founding Fathers' intentions very differently. The majority of the justices said the amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm unconnected with service in a militia and to use that firearm for lawful purposes, such as self-defense in the home. The dissenting justices said the amendment protects only the right to possess and carry a firearm in connection with militia service.

"Like most rights, the Second Amendment right is not unlimited. It is not a right to keep and carry any weapons whatsoever in any manner whatsoever and for whatever purpose," Justice Antonin Scalia wrote for the majority. But it did allow for individuals to have guns for lawful purposes, such as hunting and defending themselves, he said. The majority clearly saw the individual right to own a gun.

Yes, the right to bear arms is not infringed, but the overlying view from the judges who ruled on was that doesn't mean you can own any firearm you like.

Yeah, that doesn't really surprise me in the slightest. Klybold and Harris had their admirers, as did the Boston Marathon bomber.

And it's not like our popular culture doesn't prime people to empathize with misanthropic malcontents.

Point and point.

People who are f'ed up in the head attract more people who are f'ed up in the head.

I'm torn by that first article.
On the one hand: GOOD.
On the other: I really do firmly believe that every person deserves a fair day in court. Even unrepentant scum-bags like this chucklef#ck.
