Holy BatTurtles Batman!!!
This was seriously the best TMNT movie since the 1990 release. This movie has everything a turtle movie should have. Was dark, filled full of action, witty humor, and the plot was nasty awesome. Hope this continues, this was just gnarly.
I can't believe as huge of a turtle fan that I am that I just finished this movie this morning.

Yea I hope the ending means they are definitely making another one
I’m just so impressed with it
If they could do a Netflix series except slightly darker I would be pumped

Going to the whole Batman vs Shredder scene I really enjoy the difference between Shredder and Batman's fighting style, both are masters of their craft but you notice Batman uses a lot of western martial arts and has more brawling aspects to his character while Shredder does more flips and is a bit more refined.

Batman fought in an interesting fashion in this one, mixing in martial arts, some brawling and using his gadgets a lot. I don't recall Batman mixing in his gadgets so often in his fights in other animated versions, in some ways I kinda felt he was 'cheating' a bit. I guess I wanted to see him fight Shredder and the Turtles in a more hand-to-hand fashion, with a few batarangs thrown in without overdoing it.

Agree with this statement. I felt as though his toys made the difference, but I also felt they made him look stronger than he should be as a martial artist. Maybe thats just me though

So Nicktoons is showing it Wednesday night 8pm; repeat Friday 5pm. I'm a little surprised given the level of violence and hope there isn't any complaint from parents who are caught off guard with that... Esp as the tv listing, at least the one I'm seeing, has it listed as PG, not the actual PG-13 rating. But I'm glad it may have a chance to be more widely seen.

If any parents complain, I hope it does not get used by Nick to say "See?! They only want kiddie stuff!" If anything belongs at 10:30 at night it's this, not 'Rise.' What is with these scheduling people.

I mean, I'm sure those scenes will edited out due to 'time limit constraint'. 'This has been edited for TV' and all that. Luckily the scenes with blood and whatnot are few and far between so you don't miss too much if they cut those out.

Yeah, got to thinking that, hopefully so. Though some of it is involved in places that might be hard to edit, but we'll see...

On the bright side, some of the deaths were kinda self-censored/implied. Like when Shredder impaled one of the security guards, yeah, you hear the sounds of blood spilling, but don't see a drop of it. The sound can be edited out easily.

Very true.

Hopefully the holiday timing, at least for the U.S. here, will get plenty of additional people discovering this gem, and increase support for a sequel. (And introduce some to the concept that the TMNT aren't always, and not always intended to be stuck as, "a kids thing.")

Sooo, that was NOT edited and pretty gutsy of Nick to show untouched. o.O

Granted I hadn't watched it again yet since it first came out, so maybe there were edits I didn't notice(?), but I doubt it... Ninja star star to the head, guy gouged through by Shredder, off camera guy vocally being killed... all there.

And this is repeating Friday at only 5pm? Erm... I mean, I love that a wider audience may get a chance to catch it, but that's a little surprising.

Did they keep that one character decapitated? I forget who did it, but either Shredder or Ra's Al Ghul slices off someones head off-screen, but you see the head roll on the floor.

If it was the guard that is decapitated and his head drops right to the side of the screen and his headless body falls over, yeah, that was in it too.

Damn Nick... did they not watch it before adding it to the schedule? We can't get a more mature series? But this, ah what the heck, lets just go for cartoon murder on the kid channel.

We already had 2k12 for the mature series and season 1 Korra ended with a murder suicide.

do christian groups still watch tv? If so they might complain and actually hurt chances of any future darker tmnt projects, if anything this might've been a bad thing for more mature tmnt.

Especially since Rise is also action oriented, they might just say "let's go full comedy for the next reboot".

That's what I'm kind of worried about if some executive were to decide to use it to their advantage if any parents happen to complain.

Looks like the repeats tomorrow evening are at 5pm and again at 8pm -- stuck in the middle of a block of 'Rise' eps. o.O What are they even doing? If it was testing the waters for older kids and adult fans that would be great, but on a day and time when the younger ones are likely to have Nick on? Erm...

Pains me to have to forewarn my sister about anything TMNT, but the nephew is only 3 and would have probably been begging her to let him watch had they come across it, so I did give her a heads up.
