I don't think they ever said it was going to be grounded. I think what you're referring is something people on here were saying when that one draft leaked a while back, something about it being more realistic to use "call of duty rejects" than ninjas for the foot clan. That was more or less members rationalizing the decision, not the filmmakers defending it.

Dead at that Turtle van/battleshell/party wagon whatever.
The idea of them having a vehicle to get around or even Don tricking it out for battle isn't a bad one but to look like that. In a movie you'd want something that could at least somewhat pass as a real vehicle. I hope to god this something like Cowabunga Carl van were it has some purpose to look outlandish but I doubt it. I know people make fun of fans that complain about everything but will go see the first day anyway but I'm almost at done with this. I know no one cares about one fan but unless we start seeing something that this wont be a total camp fest that would make the Next Mutation look like high class entertainment that's one less ticket sale for them sadly much as I love the franchise. |

Whoa...things are getting interesting. I didn't read all of the original draft of the script but was there any kind of turtle van in it?

It's not the turtle van, it's the Shell Raiser. Look at the plate. It's cool to see some Nick influence to go with the OT stuff. Big 'ol melting pot, this movie.

Wow... so the Turtles are gonna drive around in a weird-ass turtle themed van now...? I know they always did that in the cartoons, Turtle Van, Battle Shell, Shell Raiser, but in a live action movie... it just looks kinda stupid and hokey for some reason. There's a reason why Mirage never used any of the toy themed vehicles in the comics.

Umm...
Hmm, it's missing missile launchers for pizza pies and garbage cans.

This looks so stupid. This is so unbelievably cheesy. Can't believe some of you actually like this. Looks like you're getting the dumbed down cartoon element you're always drooling over. And yeah, where are the rocket, sewer lid and pizza launchers? Can't get any more awesome than that, right?
