BREAKING NEWS!!

NoDQ.com > WWE > Breaking news: Batista seriously injured
Posted by Bobby Spade on 12/22/2008 at 11:12 PM

PWInsider.com is reporting that Batista is out of action indefinitely due to a torn hamstring. Batista had been suffering from hamstring problems for the past several weeks. The Randy Orton punt kick to the head on last week's RAW was apparently WWE's way of writing Batista out of the storylines.

Batista is expected to have surgery in the near future and could very well be out of action until the summer. Obviously, this is going to throw WWE's Wrestlemania current plans out the window since Batista was expected to be in a main event match at the show.

It's alittle TNA but I figure WWE is gonna be on a big nostalgia kick for Mania.
It does seem a little too TNA, but that could really work. It's a throwback to a classic feud but at the same time a unique match for Wrestlemania.

It's only a little too TNA if almost every other match on a card is a gimmick match too.

That is true.

All ladder Wrestlemania with a barbed wire Money in the bank ladder match where everything is wrapped in barbed wire, including the participants and the audience!

Finally, a PPV worth the $60... or $70, since you said Mania.

Would'nt that be spreading the novelty gimmick a little thin? Still though a multi thousand attended wrestling event where everything is covered in barbed wire isn't just a spectacle but a landmark too .

BTW. Anyone have a good guess who Jeff Hardy's hit-and-run attacker is? Tomko? Christian Cage? HHH?

It's either Christian (No Cage) or Matt.

Jack Swagger ECW Champion already!? He's not been in WWE that long. Does seem he can carry himself well though.

I wonder who else is being cut this week.

Nobody important has been cut so far.

Venis hasn't done anything in forever. I guess the Main Event Mafia has another pseudo member coming their way.

Okay, what the hell is up with Jeff Hardy's 'Michael Jackson in a Pepsi commercial' impression?

Random Guy #1: "Hey, how was the SmackDown! show? I heard you went! Awesome!"

Random Guy #2: *sarcastically* "Yeah, awesome, I paid 90 bucks to see Jeff try to be Goldberg with the pyro and FLIP out like a fish outta water. Great stuff."

Random Guy #1: "... I had a few beers..."

Was that a joke? Okay.

It was ridiculous but I kinda liked it, builds up the whole "Hardy has bad luck but maybe someone is after him." thing nicely.

Perhaps Matt could be Jeff's assailant after all. Having Matt Hardy drop the ECW title so suddenly could free him up to work the angle further.

I don't get is how can those type of fireworks bother Jeff, but it never effected Bill Goldberg or Randy Orton when they did it. On another note, I am glad that Stone Cold Steve Austin is finally inducted to the Hall of Fame. I wonder who else will be in the class of 2009.

Bill Watts apparentley.

I don't know if Ted DiBiase SNR is inducted yet. If not I'd like to see him as a Hall-of-Famer.

I can't remember a time when I've been so out of the loop with pro wrestling. I go to indy shows whenever I have money, but I seriously get so bored/disgusted whenever I watch WWE that most of the time I just can't. Ever since what happened with Benoit I just really can't watch their product. Regardless of the rest of the circumstances, I can't shake the feeling that if he'd gone to TNA like Angle did then a lot of that stuff never would've happened. Could be wrong, but I dunno.

Anyone who hasn't read "Ring Of Hell" should absolutely do so. It paints an amazing picture of what happens in the business, what's expected of the performers, the disgusting things they do to each other on a routine basis, and how Vince really is single-handedly responsible (at least a little) for every wrestler who died a wrongful death over the last few years. After I read it, not only did I lose a lot of respect for Benoit, I honestly was so disgusted with myself as a fan that I couldn't watch wrestling for like a week.

I do watch TNA as much as I can but I agree there are too many gimmicks. Still, as far as I know, Jeff Jarrett doesn't treat his wrestlers the way Vince does, and the matches (usually) tend to be better in quality than the cookie-cutter WWE swill, so I support TNA.

Regardless, if wrestling is going to survive at all, no one named "McMahon" can have ANYthing to do with the product, period. His kids are just as screwed-up as he is.

But I'm around. Check my other thread in GD somewheres.

Yes of course.

Dixie Carter would've healed all of Benoit's brain damage just like she healed Angle's neck troubles.

Ring of hell is one of the biggest pieces of propaganda crap I have ever read. Vince really treats his wrestlers terribly by paying for their surgeries. Remember when TNA paid for Ron Killings'/Konnan's and Sonjay Dutt's surgeries? No? Right because it didn't happen.

As someone who is in the buisness, I have nothing but respect for what Vince Mcmahon has done for wrestling, Every promoter is crooked to an extent but Vince made wrestling profitable and made it a legit buisness.

Lets not make this into another pointless "TNA is bettah than WWE!!!" debate.

If "Ring of Hell" reads like Beyond the Mat conveys, I probably won't bother.

Agreed. Neither fed is really better or worse than the other. Where one has a weakness, the other prospers. I used to be anti-TNA (to an extent), but I do watch it regularly and have seen the strong points as well as the areas that need improving. Watching WWE for as long as I have, the same applies. Hell, we all have our own view of which direction we'd like each organization to go, whether it's storyline, wrestler contracts, or even merchandising schemes. The best we can do is just sit back and watch it all unfold.

Now, I haven't had the privilege to see the smaller, independent federations like ROH, but I know if I did, that I'd see things I like and don't like, as with all incarnations of pro wrestling.
