I really think they'd steer clear of the controversy... I don't know that all veterans appreciate being honored with a series about stone cold vigilante justice and killing in the streets.

I was thinking the same thing. Some vets might not appreciate a series about how the government screwed a soldier over and killed his wife and kids...

And we saw how Marvel folded like a leaf in the wind after the "Oh no, evil Asians! Marvel hates Asian people!" flak they got after Daredevil season 2, making the evil Japanese ninja clan suddenly as culturally diverse as can be with no more Japanese in it in everything afterward. They aren't looking to ruffle any feathers.

Huh, that never showed up on my radar. But I believe it. They sucked, and the Japanese guy who was supposed to be Nobu's boss was a boring vanilla chump.

And here it was, the big everyone vs. the evil Japanese ninja clan... and there isn't one scene with the Defenders fighting any ninjas. The ending of Daredevil S1 sold us a lie.

My biggest gripe with Defenders, none of The Hand was wearing typical ninja garbs that's iconic for The Hand.

But I guess it can be chalked down to only Nobu's division was dogi wearers 4unlyfe since the MCU Hand was bigger and wide spread then "just" a ninja clan

That's the real crime resulting out of it. But the original "issue"? Just because Daredevil is regularly fighting an evil, straight-up Japanese ninja clan and they're all bad guys (they're an evil Japanese ninja clan, what on earth did anyone expect?), this idea that it is then the show's responsibility and duty to make sure and find some way to include some good Asian guys to force a balance is outright absurd. I mean, I would hope some Asian character or characters would eventually show up on the show that aren't evil at some point but I'd want it to be organic to whatever the writers are up to, and if at any point it wouldn't be organic then hey, that's fine, don't worry about it. If it's literally, "Uh oh... we've reached our SJW-limit of evil Japanese... call the writers, we need like 2 or 3 good ones next episode, stat!" then that's plain dumb.
