Sonic the Hedgehog Live-Action/CGI Movie Targeting 2020 Release Date
Sonic the Hedgehog Live-Action/CGI Movie Targeting 2018 Release Date
If done correctly this could be amazing.

The only way they can make a live action/CGI movie of Sonic the Hedgehog, is if they adapt the stories from Sonic Adventures 1 and 2, those games had Sonic and his friends being on Earth with the humans.

I honestly don't want to play the Devil's advocate considering the lackluster reputation of Sonic, but after Wreck-It Ralph I say Sonic might have a shot if not prominent. His prominence may be among the worst and I still feel he deserves a break; despite this, we do have a Ratchet and Clank movie this year, no?
I'd say Sonic might have a shot, but overall: meh.

My thoughts are the same, although I doubt it'll ever happen. There was a fan-made CGI Sonic movie that came out some years ago that also had human actors in it, and I think that movie pretty much bombed.
Also I'm curious to see who gets to voice Bunnie Rabbot should it become a SatAM based movie since the original VA that voiced the character passed away.

Mad dumb. They should just go the Pixar/Dreamworks route with this. That, I would watch.

I'm a sucker for Sonic the Hedgehog.
The last "live-action" attempt didn't go so well though... even with Jaleel White trying to recapture his voice-acting magic. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtCtQpclpY8

Live-Action/CGI equals Sonic travels to "our world" to save some budget.
It's gonna be Masters of the Universe, Beastmaster II and The Smurfs redux. |

I will not judge it until I see a preview or at least several screenshots.

That aside, I could maybe see a live action/CGI thing working....if they did stick with elements from the Adventure games. |

Maybe it could be real live action scenery and locations to be realistic and pretty, with cg characters mixed together. example:

Is Roger Craig Smith still going to voice Sonic?
