Marvel's Spider-Man 2017 animated series

Soooo apparantly Ultimate Spider-Man is ending and next year is a new series simply titled Marvel's Spider-Man. It's a complete and total reboot taking Peter back to his early days as spidey.

I wonder if this will be better than Ultimate Spiderman.

I'd love to see something more similar to Spectacular.

Wasn't Ultimate Spider-Man in continuity with the other Disney Marvel shows? Are they still continuing?

I remember there was a Hulk show and a GotG show and an Avengers show which they tried to bill as a third season of Earth's Mightiest Heroes as "everything from the previous show happened here but the team here is the movie team"?

I got confused with the continuity of that animated universe because of that but apparently the shows were not that great.

Avengers Asssemble is continuing, they're renaming it "Secret Wars" for next year, just as this season was called "Ultron Revolution"

The new Spidey show is said to borrow heavily from Dan Slott's reign on the books, so that's already a turn-off for me. Slott is the worst thing to happen to Spider-Man since Howard Mackie.

I can't believe this. The new cartoon's art style doesn't even compare to the current one. Not even gonna bother.

More details here

http://www.cbr.com/nycc-live-marvels...lievers-panel/

Quote:
The discussion turned to the new “Spider-Man” cartoon, coming in 2017. “It’s a whole new Spider-Man cartoon, it’s going to focus on a young…coming-ish age Peter Parker….since they’ve used everything up they have no choice but to base a lot of this after my [work],” Slott Joked.

A clip was then shown from the series, which was screened at yesterday’s Marvel Animation panel.

A title card, indicating that the show will be simply called “Marvel’s Spider-Man” was the first thing to come on screen. It then cut to a scene where a young Peter Parker — dressed in an early version of the Spider-suit, much like the one Tobey Maguire wears at the beginning of the first “Spider-Man” film — takes on some thugs that are attacking police officers with guns that shoot lasers. Unfortunately, Peter has some issues adapting to superhero life, and accidentally lands on the roof of a nearby building accompanied by a nasty old lady and her pigeons.

A flashback was then shown that depicted a sentimental moment with Peter and Uncle Ben. Inspired by his memory of Ben, Peter musters the courage to track down the thugs in a high-speed car chase through the streets of New York. At the end of the video, it’s revealed that the Vulture was behind the villainy, as he corners Spider-Man and attacks him with a sonic screech.

Slott revealed that the early Spidey suit in the episode is actually the same costume we got a peek at in “Captain America: Civil War.”

It's obviously just being made to "tie in" so to say to Spider-Man Homecoming. Not surprised.

I wish that/wonder if the Sony deal with Marvel includes Spectacular Spider-Man rights. Instead of going through the Peter Parker in high school thing AGAIN, they should revive that if possible.

I have a lot of faith that this will be good. We desperately need some more animated action shows, and hopefully this will be the prominent catalyst.

It's based off Dan Slott's era. It won't be.

An insider called "Big Al" shares info on Marvel's Spider-Man here

Quote:
So quick heads up

a) This is not as bad as USM

b) This is still horrible and

c) I know a wee bit about the show through my job and though I am not allowed to speak about it all that much let me assure folks that there will be characters and directions involved in this which will piss most Spider-Man fans off.

Hint: Hope you like having more than just one Spider-Person.

LOL, I wonder if we'll ever get a good Spiderman cartoon ever again. I don't get what's so hard about making a decent show that isn't dumbed down for children or has weird writing choices.

I don't understand why they'll end the current show. In my opinion it's funny, has good graphics, and good characters. But, hey, I'm okay, there is an end to all things.

You can't be serious. Ultimate Spider-Man is a garbage show and a disgrace to the comic book of the same name.

Well it looks like The Spectacular Spider-Man will still be the definitive cartoon for the web-head.

I did mention: "In my opinion". It's what I think, it's not necessarily what other people will. Plus, I believe there are plenty of people who like the show.
