I saw New Moon, Alvin and the Chipmunks, and Sherlock Holmes over the weekend. I thought New Moon wasn't as good as Twilight, but at least Edward's paleness was easier on the eyes in this one. Alvin and the Chipmunks was adorable. Sherlock Holmes was great! I thought Robert Downey Jr was fantastic.

Chipmunks 2... even though I never saw the first or cared to see either one. It was horribly shallow like I expected, but not bad.

I studied abroad in Prague for a month this summer and we went on a walking tour the first day we were there. The tour guide kept saying, "You may notice that this building was used in the filming of the movie Amadeus," everywhere we went. I've never seen it, so it wasn't very special for me. hehe. I probably should now because I'd stood on most of the exterior set locations taking pictures.
I watched Hellboy II last night. My sister gave it to me for Christmas.

Sundown: The Vampire in Retreat
Out of the Past ('47) Sundown was good fun and Out of the Past was quality noir.

Lars Von Triers "Antichrist"
Wow. Just...wow. This movie was both utterly horrifying and beautifully made. I feel like I need to see it again to fully understand everything going on, but I honestly don't think I could sit through it again.

Where the Wild Things Are, and I couldn't believe how amazing it was. I don't think a movie has touched me so deeply since I was a kid.
Also, Avatar. To be honest, I found it pretty boring, and way too previsible. |

Saw an advert for the release of District 9 on the telly the other day, so bought it. Totally missed it when it was in the pictures, which is ashame, as I absolutely loved it. Didn't know what to expect and was massively surprised. Like I said, loved it.

Over the holidays, while visiting BF in northern Georgia, we watched several movies on some of the coldest nights. So sue me, but 19 degrees is freaking cold for my ass.
First was District 9. I've seen it in the theaters, and loved it then. Now, after the second viewing, I think I'll add it to my DVD collection. Carriers ,wasn't too bad, but the ending didn't seem to have any closure IMO. But either way, I think I might become a fan of Chris Pine. Christopher Meloni of L&O SVU fame had a cameo in it as well, who is another actor I like. Haunting in Connecticut. I enjoyed it, and was pleasantly surprised to see Elias Koteas in it. And, we caught Die Hard on TV, and had a blast watching that, even though it was heavily edited. To this day, Alan Rickman remains my favorite villainous actor. And after watching the last three movies, I'd love to see Elias, Christopher and Bruce Willis play brothers one day. They all have an uncanny resemblance, and even have similar vocals, so why not? |
